Nice hotel in a good location

We had 3 nights in the Luxor December 2017 I felt it was a very clean and tidy hotel the staff were helpful, the location of the hotel I thought was brilliant, the beds are very comfortable but if I was to fault the hotel room it could do with a bit of a refurb it’s starting to look a little tired in places the shower was a little shabby but still worked fine it could all do with a little spruce up.

Viva Las Vegas

Stayed at the Luxor for 6 nights whilst attending a family wedding. We had a standard room in the Pyramid and it was spacious, clean & tidy with maid service daily. There were plenty of options to eat, ranging from snacks, to sit down restaurants, to buffets. If you fancy a change of scenery, you can try Mandalay Bay, Excalibur, New York New York, which are all connected. The hotel is situated at the south end of the strip, about a mile from the Vegas sign, there is a bus stop outside which services the strip and can take you the 2 outlet malls at either end. You can buy a 24 hour, 2 day or 3 day ticket (best value) and hop on and off. All in all we liked the location of the Luxor, it is a little bit away from the hustle and bustle of the strip but we preferred this and didn't mind the walk to take in the sights along the way. If you are short on time and looking to focus your shopping, we would recommend the Fashion Show Mall oposite the Wynn hotel for all your big name stores and the North Premium outlet shops for plenty of bargains.

Rooms need some TLC

Have stayed in Luxor previously but felt this time that it was in need of some TLC. Rooms starting to look a bit dated. Queues at check in were disappointing. Took at least 20-30 minutes in queue

Large lines to check in. No coffee in the rooms. Not much detail given about facilities. 2 of the pools closed on Monday. Rooms looking a little tired. Smoking still permitted throughout the hotel.

Pros: its location
Cons: Map of the hotel should be given to every guest so they can find their way around.
Location: All great visited the shops and the other hotels all were grat.
Staff were very helpful. The breakfast was always gorgeous.

Near the start of the Strip

Hotel was booked 4 months ago but when checking in was told there was only a ground floor room available until the following night when we could move to a higher floor. The other option was to pay 10 dollars a night for a refurbished room on a high floor which is the option we took. Surely booking and paying so far in advance should ensure you are not given the worst room possible.

fun hotel.

Pros: the look of the building, their food court, Nathans is there with starbucks and other stores. They buffet downstairs in the hotel I would highly rate.
Cons: run of house rooms to be refurbished.
Location: Buffet downstairs - do it. Download the "My Vegas" app and you can play a free game and win credits which will allow reductions - I got a free buffet.
massive hotel, connects to excalibur and mandalay bay via indoor connections. This hotel is quiet a walk from the centre of the strip, with that said everything you need is at the hotel. They have my favourite hot dog place "Nathans" yum. The bed was quiet comfortable for my liking however the pillows rather soft. Rooms are large as you would expect being vegas, the shower was a bit old. This was a run of the house room which is one of the older rooms, although older they are still not run down old. DO NOT take a taxi from the airport, get an uber. Taxi's are a rip off and Uber is 1/3 of the cost. (I paid $10.88 in uber and my friend for the same trip paid $30 in taxi as he was stubborn and knew best...) The myvegas app I recommend using prior to your trip as you can purchase shows, buffets, starbucks credit etc there's 4 different apps which connect together, ensure you claim your reward before leaving your current location - or disable the request to use your current location as some offers are not available in vegas itself and need to be purchased out of vegas, (if product is out it refills daily)

Trip of a lifetime

We stayed at the Luxor for 3 nights and could not have had a better time. Check in and out was really fast and simple. Always lots to do in and around the hotel. It is towards the bottom of the strip so expect a bit of a walk to the popular attractions. Tip - avoid booking shows at the Luxor in advance, they always have loads of cheap deals the day of in the lobby.

wedding week

We loved it, cant fault the hotel really apart from the price of anything you buy inside the hotel is triple the price but thats the same for all the hotels. if you want any supplies/gifts then go to one of the hundreds of shops outside on the strip where prices are much better. But the hotel was great with everything we needed and although if i went back i would want to try one of the others just for the sake of trying them we were very happy with what we got.

A little tired

The Luxor was good value for money but a little tired in its decor we had a deluxe room but the shower head was not fixed to the wall and there was no fridge or kettle in the room. The bed was one of the best i have ever slept in, so comfortable. Plenty of space and a good position not far from lifts on 9th floor. The hotel has plenty of good eating places, the Backstage Deli is fast and efficient and good value, not so keen on the buffet, but other eateries were excellent. Pool was pleasant but the surroundings could have been kept tidier and only one of the two pools was open for some reason. Easy walking distance to Excaliber and Mandalay Bay and near to the airport. Probably would look for something more central another time but on the whole fairly satisfied.
