    Pub with rooms

Pub is centrally situated in Ledbury. Staff were friendly and efficient at checkin and happy to accommodate 2 bikes in a secure location ( the wine and spirit store). We ate in the pub on the first evening and the food was very good, the beef and ale pie was excellent. Food is sourced locally where possible. The pub dates back to 16th century which explains one of the problems, namely the ceilings in the bedrooms are extremely low. My husband, who is 5ft 10inches had only a couple of inches clearance from the ceiling. However there was a low beam at one side of the room which he had to duck under to move round the bed and on several occasions forgot. Ouch! I understand that our room had the lowest ceiling. The other problem for us was that our room faced the high street ( as do 2 of the 3 rooms) which had passing traffic all night. If you are used to night time noise this would not be a problem but worth bearing in mind.

Pros: Staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was very good.

Cons: Breakfast was not served until 10 which was too late for us but there are several cafes swerving good breakfasts locally.

Location: Ledbury is a charming market town and a good centre to explore the Malverns and surrounding area.
