Good, functional hotel near all main sites of North Yorkshire. Breakfast was variable on day to day basis in terms of quality and availability of items -- clearly there were also staffing issues. I would also have liked to see a policy of enforced mask wearing around the hotel and social distancing; people are now behaving as if we are no longer in a pandemic (this includes most staff who do not wear masks). If I had underlying health issues, I would be afraid of this slack attitude.

Booking, checking in and the overall experience was excellent. The room service was lacking a little variety for the 24 hours menu which was disappointing.

Quiet location....close to the city centre

Staff were lovely, room compact but functional.....staff at breakfast weren’t very responsive to requests

Decent

A decent hotel with a large parking area. Good facilities, clean and comfortable. The room was smaller than other Holiday Inn hotels I have stayed in. Coffee and tea making facilities could be Improved.

Convenient for York

Pros: Good sized twin room. Pool looked good - but we didn't use it as we were short of time. Reception chap was very welcoming and helpful.
Cons: I had spoken with Holiday Inn customer service to confirm I was getting a twin room as requested- my mistake to use a premium line which cost some £££
Location: York is very close with historic buildings like York Minster, The Shambles and several museums. A lot more shopping and eating places than we expected
A York races weekend meant hotel availability close to York was non-existent. Although I was a bit concerned about staying so far away from York , I needn't have worried as it only took 20 minutes via the A1 (M) and A64 to get from the Holiday Inn at Garforth to York University.

Handy place to stay, very easy to get too & close to Garforth & Leeds for cheap taxis into town.

Lovely

It was good stay but the breakfast in the morning was short of things. When we checked in, we were moved without our consent as they had double booked.
