Pleasant room, although a little draughty as windows not double-glazed. Some bulbs in lights didn't work although entrance bulb was replaced. when requested in reception. TV in room did not work. No hot food available for breakfast. Hotel has scaffolding at front as I suspect masonry fallen off, probably due to poor maintenance of an old building.. Additions to the property look more in keeping with a New Town like Stevenage or Welwyn Garden City(1960s style?) and .out of keeping with the rest of the building. More rooms or gym / sauna and / or more rooms would be better than a swimming pool.
That said staff were helpful and friendly A historic hotel in a great location which has been poorly managed in recent years.
