Comments on stay December 30/31,2019 1. The room was almost the furthest room in the hotel from reception. It is accessed through a warren of corridors and two flights of stairs (no lift available). I booked in October. I understand that there were 39 people booked for breakfast on December 31, which indicates that the hotel was not full. Why two months in advance were we allocated to this remote room when rooms nearer and on lower floors were clearly available? 2. On entering the room, it was cold. We had to call for assistance to get the electric heating unit working. It had been switched off at the wall. It struggled to keep the room warm. 3. In the bathroom we attempted to work the shower, but it appeared to be stuck so again we had to call for assistance. 4. The hand basin was very slow to drain. 5. The main shower head badly needs attention. 6. Part of the reason for the coldness in the room was a lack of double glazing in the window which ran with condensation. 7. The TV had a cloudy display. When first on, the screen was OK, but it soon became cloudy again and was unusable. A member of staff promised to look for a replacement which was provided, the picture quality was still poor. 8. The bedside clock radio did not work at all. Overall my experience indicates a serious lack of attention to preparation of the room and a lack of maintenance.

A lovely place to stay, particularly as we were upgraded on arrival. Fine food and a great breakfast, very comfortable environment.

Our room overlooked the high street and was rather noisy. Whilst there was some secondary glazing it wasn't adequate enough. I did report to reception but the response was that it was busy due to the bank holiday, which wasn't really an acceptable response.

Situated in the middle of everything!

Pros: The hotel itself was lovely and the situation, perfect
Cons: Can't think of anything!
Location: Lots to do in easy walking distance, bars restaurants and interesting shops.
It was our first visit to Lichfield. There was a festival on (not the reason for the visit though) so lots going on. From arriving to leaving we enjoyed the room, the staff were friendly and helpful.

Good location in central Lichfield

Pros: location
Cons: bathroom
Location: plenty of bars, restaurants and historic sites like the cathedral to enjoy
We wanted a hotel central to Lichfield so the location was ideal. Parking out back wasn't the most accessible unless you are prepared to use the pay & display car park on Bird Street. The hotel staff were pleasant. Check in and check out were easy. Upon booking, we had requested a quieter room and did get a room that wasn't facing the bars and restaurants. There is a lift available but it's quite small so if you've got a pushchair or a wheelchair user, it's a tight squeeze so worth bearing that in mind. The room was comfortable and nicely furnished but not a lot of space. The bathroom was nice and clean however the glass shower screen wasn't really sealed to the bathtub so your bathmat and your entire floor was soaked every time we used the shower, which was annoying. Otherwise, the beds were comfortable and breakfast was nice in the mornings.

Beautiful bluiding in the middle of town

Pros: I liked it all, a big room, lovely bathroom and comfy chairs to sit and read. Didn't go down stairs as wedding reception going on
Cons: The noise from pub across the road
Location: We came for the weekend to look around and found the hotel beautiful as is the town
Staff were really nice and helpful especially the manager, lovely hotel with great history .

Small room. Very noisy. Out dated facilities.

The room was very small hardly room for a bed or desk. Very dark next to no light through a walled in window. The TV doesn't even have freeview just a handful of badly tuned channels and the remote didn't work. Dirty blind and towel rack in bathroom. Knees touch the bath when you are on the toilet. Very noisy. Can hear every move from upstairs. Unfortunately there was a wedding on our floor and we had to endure the wedding party shouting and singing into early hours and then being woken at 6am by children screaming "wheres Debra" over and over again outside our door. Were also disturbed by the cleaning crew every morning. We stayed 4 nights. The room wasn't serviced the 2nd day at all despite us leaving midday. The 3rd day a pile of towels was dumped outside our door so had to embarrassingly ask reception for a service. Wouldn't recommend for the price.
