Upon leaving hotel at 4.50 am for airport i was called back in by 2 rude men to be told i owed them 50p yes you read it right 50p on my room no idea what for but they insisted it be paid. Tried to say i maybe made a call from room which i didn't but i paid the 50p. Appalling behaviour from 2 grown men. We will not be staying at hotel again

My partner and I stayed for a few nights in the month of July. Upon arrival the hotel seemed ok - the receptionist was fairly friendly and we were checked in without much delay. The room was quite spacious and well laid out, however the bed was quite lumpy and could do with a new one. One of the only good aspects of the hotel was the location and the appearance of the room. On our first night, we wanted to try out the hotels restaurant for a nice meal - however, we were told (after sitting there for about 20minutes) that there was a function on and that they took priority over any staying residents. This should not be the case, and even if it was we should have been told upon arrival. The bar and waiting staff all had very poor English and they could not understand what we were saying - this is an essential element of working in the hospitality industry. We brought this to the attention of reception - one of the managers was very apologetic and suggested various other restaurants in the area we could try out. This was much appreciated by myself and my partner. The receptionist on the other hand (a different one than that of arrival) was quite rude and ignorant when we asked if it was possible to get room service. We went elsewhere for that night but decided we would give the restaurant in the hotel the benefit of the doubt and go back on the second night. We were there at 5pm (just after It opened) and there was a couple already seated beside us.

Checked in and was given card. Had to ask for directions to room. Room was dirty - there was a floating poo in the toilet and hair in the plug hole in the sink. Complained and was offerred 2 free drinks!!! That’s it, no discount/ refund. 2 free drinks. At £250 I expected so much better. Terrible room and terrible service

Clean, well run, central to everything.

Pros: Clean well run hotel , plenty of hot water in a strong shower. Room for three was big enough. TV, AC, Blinds, Kettle worked free coffee/tea.
Cons: Plain room with white walls could do with a few more pics of Liverpool. Quiet but you can hear people outside the door if they are loud.
Location: Did not eat here - plenty of places nearby esp Albert Dock 300m or City Centre 300m. Do see Walker Art Galery and World Museum (egypt) section.
Clean well run hotel, though it lacks ambience we really came to see the city, not to boast about a flashy hotel. Its reliable and good , plenty of hot water in a strong shower. Room for three was big enough. TV and AC worked as did the kettle (with coffee/tea) Curtains and blackkout blind worked well. Quiet but you can hear people outside the door if they are loud. So it is good value and ticks the boxes but it wont be your main memory (you remember the bad ones!- ie not a boutique or quirky hotel. Did not eat here as there are plenty of places nearby but it would be OK for a breakfast or a late drink, but Liverpool has lots of Victorian pubs and a restuarant quarter. Rooms facing onto James St have a view towards the Docks. Theres a local train station metro below which means you can also see Birkenhead and The Lady Lever Gallery if you have time. (cross on the commuter ferry for a nice City/River view 7-9am 5-7pm only

Not easy to find

The hotel when eventually I found it was OK nothing special but was suitable for the one night. Car parking was some way away from the hotel and that was an experience. Area around the hotel had a lot going on in the evening, but it being a Monday some of the Pubs in the area were not open so getting food was a challenge. Breakfast in the hotel was good value for money.

Nice stay would recommend it.

Hotel met my expectations although it was a little cold and the air conditioning wasn't working properly. We had a comfortable stay and we would stay again has it was in a great location though there would be a bit of noise from St James station but we never heard a thing it was very quiet...the trains next to hotel run every 2 minutes to lime st station etc so it is a bonus if you have mobility problems.

Great, plush hotel!

Modern-looking, well designed and maintained hotel. The room was unbelievable! It's literally next door to the train/metro station, and walking distance from both the pier and the city centre. If I have to visit Liverpool again, I'll do my best to stay there again!
