What's great here - Location, size of room, bath and bed. Bar and service in bar. What disappointed me was a few things, in comparison to high expectations given previous stays, albeit 4 or 5 years ago. Service provided on occasions seemed not friendly and not interested. Breakfast to room was continental only and this was actually not clear from the booklet left in the room. Then it turned up 15 mins late and only received 1! At least I suppose it couldn't get colder and having rung up, another arrived ten mins later. This was a fiftieth birthday and other half requested as to whether they could get a cake or something delivered to the room for when we returned later in the day... Nothing turned up. Topped off by extra milk requested to the room, which was 'off'. Sadly not a hotel we would now return to, there are plenty off others in the vicinity... Sorry!

My main complaint is related to the very bad quality of mattress, which absolutely inappropriate for a 4* hotel. The rest of the hotel was fine.

Nice hotel. Good location. Very good service from staff. My only gripe is the woefully poor taps they have fitted in the bathroom and shower. Somebody chose the cheapest rubbish or they were robbed by the supplier. No way of knowing how hot shower will be without a long trial and error session. And loo flush requires purpose and strength to operate. If it was mine, I’d demand the plumber and or supplier change them. Other than that, it’s a decent hotel.
