As venerable a landmark as Llandaff Cathedral, Norwegian Church Arts Centre sits in Cardiff Bay and offers gorgeous views of the city’s waterfront. The building has stood since Cardiff Docks was known for exporting coal. Beloved children’s author Roald Dahl, who penned classics, such as "Matilda" and "James and the Giant Peach", worshipped there with his family. Visitors and churchgoers celebrate Roald Dahl Day every September.
The Llandaff Cathedral is a parish church nestled close to the banks of the River Taff, a bastion of nature that wards off the hustle-bustle of modern buildings nearby. Visitors are invited to tour the cathedral every day until the last scheduled service of the day. Be sure to seize any opportunity to hear the organist and choir fill the great space with the dulcet sounds of worship. Guests can stay at hotels near Llandaff Cathedral, such as Jolyon’s at Number 10 or Village Cardiff, which offer convenient access around Cardiff and affordable rates.
