Arrived on Friday at 7pm. Got showered and settled in. Hotel info said the restaurant closed at 8.45pm. We arrived at the restaurant at 8.30 only to be told that they had stopped serving food? Did the short walk into town in the rain but the only place now serving food was the restaurant next to the chip shop, the same menu as the fish and chip shop, only more expensive, nice cod and chips though and the staff were nice.
Next day off to Snowdon.
As it was my wifes birthday we headed back to the hotel for dinner. The hotel bar and restaurant was in darkness? Later a sign appeared on the restaurant door saying "Now closed for winter, will re-open in March" FFS! All the places we passed where we could have stopped on the way back!! Ended up with food from the pizza and kebab takeaway , Happy Birthday Wifey !! If that had been advertised when I booked I wouldn't have stayed there. Even the hotel staff at check in could have told us that the restaraunt and bar closed the next night. Room was adequate and clean but the bed matress had a ridge in the middle which was slightly uncomfortable. The shower room was clean and everything worked as it should. The car park was far too small having only ten spaces, less than the number of rooms including the apartment. Almost £70 a night for a bedroom with no facilities is a bit much to be honest. Breakfast was available for £8 each which I think was reasonable. Next time we will stay at the Eagles Hotel. OTH, Dissapointing.
