Modern and nice hotel located in central London. Rooms are clean and functional. Dinner experience was however terrible like if the kitchen is run by an amateur.

For me, the hotel felt a bit isolated, a very safe area but just isolated. Surrounded by offices or apartments. Very little choice of restaurants or convenience shops around the hotel. However, it was spotless and had very friendly staff.

New Year in the Capital

Pros: High standard of rooms. Good position. We were able to view the New Year's Eve fireworks with just a 5 minute walk to The Thames
Cons: New Year's Day there was a long queue for breakfast - much of the wait being for someone to clear tables - needed more staff. Staff hard working .
Location: We walked by the river to St Paul's Cathedral - 45 minutes. Houses of Parliament, Regent Street & London Eye all within walking distance.
Excellent room on the top floor with great views across The Thames. Beautiful suite which was designed for two - with a large master bedroom & a separate lounge area. We had 2 additional beds placed in the lounge area for our 2 adult daughters & there was still sufficient room to relax. Good location - 15 minutes walk to Westminster Abbey. Breakfast was very busy and we had to wait a while for a table - however this was probably due to the fact that most people went down on New Year's day at the same time! The food however was good and hot. Taxi's always readily available outside the hotel. Staff very friendly and obliging. This is our second stay in a Doubletree Hilton in The City in the last 3 months & both have been of a very high standard.

Nice hotel close to the Thames

Pros: the welcoming team
Cons: storage space in the room no shelves = not that good.
Location: Thames river very near with there is a nice walk to the Palace of Westminster
The room what quite small and miss storage for clothes probably very for a week-end but not more.

Communal areas nice but room a bit disappointing

Comunial areas included nice touches like cookies and flavoured water but the room itself was pretty old and plain looking and in desperate need of refresh. Walls were marked, and very bare of decoration, plug socket had a burn mark (worrying), fridge/minibar was empty and the door didn't close because it didn't really fit in the space it was designed for. The bathroom sink dresser was worn with the laminate peeling off the front and the bathroom shelves dusty but otherwise clean. Just didn't really feel it justified the 4.4 star rating.

room too hot to sleep

Hotel was much as you would expect from a modern hotel in a city centre. Drinks were oddly priced. Special offer of 3 glasses of wine for £6.95 till 7 p.m. was very good, but when asked for a fourth glass, the one glass alone was an extortionate £14. What are the bar management thinking? Room was basic but ok EXCEPT that it was much too hot and the window opening was too small to give any air movement, at least with the curtains drawn. If there was air conditioning, it was too hard to find how to switch it on. For the reason that the room was too hot, I would not stay there again.

High quality business hotel

My wife and I stayed overnight on New Year's Eve. We weren't there for long enough to assess all the facilities, but the ambiance of the hotel was upmarket even though in London terms it's reasonably priced. The hotel is aimed more at business than leisure visitors but for a one-night stay it was fine. The staff were all very polite and helpful and the buffet breakfast was good. Our "queen sized" room wasn't particularly big, but it was adequate. However, the en-suite shower room was small. The only two negative points in the room were firstly that there was a toenail on the carpet when we arrived, although the room and shower room were very clean overall. Secondly there was no TV, just an Apple computer. Fine for working on and it could be used to watch TV or films, but for the latter purpose the screen was much too small for the room. Overall, however, we had a a very pleasant stay.

no bad

sincerely, i was a bit disappointed about the hotel situation of the double tree. Although titled the name of "Hilton", it is the worst hilton i ever been. the room facilities are old and out of time, the only highlight is the Mac in the room -- but as a television, it is too small. But, considering the price and location, it seems I have nothing to complain. maybe next time i still will live in its out of time room, just BCZ i really like the environment around Westminster.
