We are seeking a full refund (NOT a CREDIT NOTE) which a Guoman representative kindly and promptly agreed to.
WHY: This was a pre-birthday last-minute surprise for my partner who had a business meeting close by. His colleague were at the sister hotel nearby. Noting the hotels' history I still took a chance. Not to be repeated. Problems there were a few:
The room was cold,
Turning on the radiator which only went to 28 and was very noisy and did not heat the room.
The bottled water for designed for a young child.
The bath condiments (albeit it free) were so small and for a child, a far from suitable for one let alone two adults.
The corners of the bed repaired with duck-tape. Not professional or worthy of star rating!
One light bulb over the bed did not work.
No net curtains on the window, despite the room being overlooked by the building across the road.
Suggest sockets take USB’s
The main issue was the shower which did not work.
We were then late as the water was at best tepid, and worst cold. We ran this for 10 minutes before I rang reception, who were less than helpful and need my direction on solutions and next step. I would repeat the suggestion that your staff are more suitably trained.
Whilst the service from the repair man was prompt, he could not fix the problem. And by time the matter was escalated and my suggested solution of a new room advanced it was 30 minutes later and too late to be effective. I showered elsewhere!!
