Worst staff ever

Upon check in was told £500 security deposit needed on card. After paying this was told that it wasn't valid as card did not belong to main guest but refund would take days. He asked me to further authorise funds with a manual form with all card details and security code. I wasn't happy or comfortable with this having already authorised £500. No help from check in staff but was called rude after asking him to stop taking whilst I tried to sort situation out with booking agent. No help from him offered or attempted. This whole ordeal lasted approx 1 hour on one of the hottest days of the year - extremely frustrating. Nobody else seemed to know of the £500 deposit so if booking I would bear this in mind (also no guests allowed after 10:30pm) Apartment was nice but very hot (no fans or a/c). Location good. If staying in area again I would book a hotel (5* hotel in the area was similar price).

Amazing views and good price

Cons: On first arrival the receptionist wasn't around so spent a few minutes waiting to get in. not easy to find the buzzer in the dark.. SkyTV is £35 extra
Location: restaurants are mostly Halal so BYOB (bring your own booze). Lahore One down the road looks like a 1970's cafe but food was ace. YUUKitchen also good
I stayed in one of the 8 penthouse suites. view from the balcony was worth the extra. Penthouses are a similar layout to the 2 room suites, but the patio windows are the full length of the end wall, rather than only a portion of it. Loved the space so close to the city. Had two bedrooms one with large ensuite shower. Great to have a dishwasher and all the modcons. Only downside to my room (92) was that it was overlooked by the student apartments next door, which meant keeping bedroom curtains shut at night - but not a showstopper by any means. FYI Rooms 93/94 face south towards the River. Mine faced north. On the 15th Floor and serviced by 2 relatively small lifts (8 person). not for the claustrophobic. Tower Bridge is nearby and a nice 30 min walk to the Globe and back around the river is easily managed.

Worth considering

Friendly and helpful staff. Apartment was not quite ready when I arrived to check in (after the 3pm check-in time) but it had been freshly cleaned. Good views over East London from a north facing apartment on the top floor. Good sized apartments which could comfortably accommodate 6 people. For small groups, probably better value than multiple hotel rooms.
