Dear Mikko,Thank you for your review. It may be time to digest the fact that we are an old hotel, run by the same family for over 60 years. So if you are expecting glitz and modern try chain hotels. We appeal to individuals who like hotels with friendly staff, facilities which work and an independent character in a great location at reasonable rates.

We enjoyed our visit and the hotel matched our expectations. Minor complaint about how even conversation could be followed from the neighbouring room through door between the rooms. Breakfast was OK, but not much variety for a longer stay. English language skills of some of the breakfast staff was lacking.

Dear Kalle,Thank you for your review and award. We are delighted that you enjoyed your visit but puzzled by your assertion that there is "not much variety" served at our complimentary breakfast. Regarding language skills, the staff try their best given that their main occupation is cleaning. Since Brexit, hiring in UK hospitality has been a nightmare so your comments lack understanding and empathy.

The changing persons at the reception did not recognize us after two days stay. We often had to tell who we are, it did not leave a feeling of being a welcomed guest. Understandable safety matter. Our accomodation fitted our needs. Breakfast was lovely and good.

Apart from that the accommodation fitted your needs and the breakfast was lovely. Our reception staff consistently receive high praise from the majority of our guests so I'm not sure what went wrong.
