On the outset this really is a great hotel. We had a couple of strange things when checking in - I honestly don't know who left the notes on the booking but when checking in with my husband the guy at the reception looked at us in a funny way and said: "It says you are expecting a 12yr old boy to join you..." - which was not the case and the way the question was asked was just awkward full stop! Made me feel really uneasy! On top of that he kept calling me Miss instead of Mrs and was looking at my husband as if he was just a random guy. Honestly awful! Rooms are nice and clean, hotel clearly takes steps to reduce waste too. Loved the fact that you had water stations on each floor with both still and sparking water - very nice touch! Turn down service offered as well, underfloor heating in the bathroom - all nice stuff. However the strange shape of the building means that the rooms are very dark, with very little space for natural light to get in, unless it was evening it was very unpleasant for the eyes, lighting in the room was not great either. So if you are after a nice bright room, look elsewhere. Based on this alone I would not stay there again unfortunately.

It’s quite a nice hotel but the staff aren’t that helpful and the rooms are already looking a bit tired even though the place has only been open a few years. Check-in is pretty slow because they never have enough staff on the desk even when there are lots of people waiting to check in.
