    Unsteady Hallway Layout

    This hotel has very friendly desk staff, the use of the bag room was very convenient, but when trying to get to the room there were three “lifts”. One lift was out of order, one lift was big and running properly, and the third was small and didn’t want to work once we crammed ourselves and bags inside. When we got to the floor there were multiple stairs up and down and a random landing. If you were not steady in your steps it was very challenging to get to our room. The room was clean and very spacious compared to other places I stayed in the UK, but I wouldn’t stay here again because the hallway was awful after a day of walking the city and sites.

    This is advertised as a 3 star hotel and it was awful. After the first night, we asked to be moved to another room since the windows didn't close they were old, and the floor was raised on every seem due to moisture. The hall was dingy. We were first told we can upgrade with 40 pounds more a night and I said this wasn't acceptable. They moved us while we were out of for the day to a room that was even worse, smaller, carpets were filthy, the water wouldn't go down in the sink. This has no standard of 3 star the hotel does have better rooms which are renovated but the majority are not. I would not recommend this hotel.

    Most of the property seemed to be renovated except for the area in which my room was located. Carpet in that area was very run thru but at least it was still somewhat clean $ didn’t smell.

    Whatever u do stay as far away from this hotel as possible!! We saw a rat crawl right by our bed, the drain in the shower didn’t work so u had 5 min to wash before it flooded on the floor, keep everything locked up if u elect to have your room clean (my wife’s flat iron came up missing, and the beds are what I imagine prison beds to feel like...: it’s cheap folks but wish we would’ve paid the extra for something else!

    We had booked a superior double room but on arrival was given a room in the basement with a double and 2 single beds, certainly not a double room but a family room. We went back to reception and got moved to a room on floor 4. The room was a double but was still smaller in size than quoted one Expedia. However at this point stayed with room as very clean. Breakfast was disappointing as only scrambled eggs or boiled eggs that were cold. I have a lactose intolerance and in room was a small soya milk. However, at breakfast there was no alternative Milk and when asked a member of staff they said we should have emailed hotel the day before which is not mentioned on website. We spoke to the manager on leaving but was not very interested as they only have about 4 out of 400 guests with allergies. He did however offer that if we stayed there again he would upgrade us but we will not be returning as very disappointed
