Thank you for the recommendation and 5 star review! We always strive to deliver the best experience for our guests and I am pleased that you found our staff welcoming and courteous. Indeed we are privileged to be situated in the heart of the London alongside the River Thames on Victoria Embankment in a quiet spot yet only a short walk away from the hustle and bustle of Soho, Trafalgar Square and much more. We greatly look forward to spoiling you on your next stay!

Week-end with friends

Pros: Location
Cons: Overall staff performance, especially in the bar and restaurant.
Location: Everything is fairly close except big department stores.
Stayed at Royal Horsguards two nights (two couples). The mission was to show the other couple London since they had never been there before. Decided on this hotel because of good location on the riverbank next to the Embankment subway station and easy walking distance to Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Theatre District and London Eye. Rated at 5 Stars and fairly deep room prices, you´d expect quite a lot, especially after having had stayed several times in similar facilities around the world. Upon arrival reception was good, not exceptional, requested power socket adapters arrived only after reminders. Rooms are smallish but good, television old and quality of picture poor as was the choice of channels. Room turned out to be very quiet, however air conditioning was noisy and we finally turned ot off. Had drinnks in the lobby bar as well as breakfast one morning. Service was sluggish in both cases. At the bar you really had to work to get your orders. Overarr only a fair performance from the staff. With the expection of the TV, the facilities are good. Staff would have to step up. Exxept the doorman who was really good.

Nice hotel, Service not so good

Lovely hotel, but the fire alarm went off a 4am and we had to evacuate, 4.30 we went back in, the next day or the day after I had no comment from any staff to say sorry for the inconvenience, when I checked out it wasn't even mentioned. A simple sorry would have gone a long way especially when your paying over £300 a night. Lovely hotel but the service I have received on both my stays has been poor.

Hello and thank you for your comments. From the onset please accept my sincere apologies for firstly the inconvenience of the evacuation so early and then for the lack of empathy from the team. As you can imagine it was an extremely stressful time, however this is no excuse and we truly are sorry. I do hope that we have the opportunity to welcome you back for a better stay.

Fantastic room with a view spoilt by poor cleaning

Cons: Room cleaning
Location: Fantastic riverside views, close to all the major city landmarks, theatres and shopping areas.
Grand hotel nice and close to the centre of city and night life, few minutes walk to Covent Garden, shops, theatres and restaurants. We had a room with a view of the river and the London Eye, so good we never drew the curtains. Our only complaint was a lack of detail in the room cleaning. Twice tea and coffee pot not cleaned out nor cups and glasses washed, once bins not emptied.

Nice weekend away

Beautiful hotel and the room was great but was very noisy, we were woken every 30mins by air con units starting up, we should have complained and asked to be moved but at 3am you don't feel like packing all your stuff when all you want to do is sleep.

Great location, attention to detail

This hotel is in a great location near Covent garden, right opposite the London Eye. Rooms are tired and in need of updating, shower needed retiling. Reception staff were superb, the rest less so. Bar opens for limited hours but cocktails were good.

Lovely pre christmas girls break

On arrival we learned we had been upgraded to an executive room which was a nice surprise. Lovely room . Breakfasts good. Very comfortable. Slight problem when ordering a bucket of ice for the room. Took three phone calls and after nearly an hour we were presented with an ice bucket. However when we suggested as we had such a long wait an ice bucket plus complimentary wine would be nice this duly arrived. Lovely afternoon tea but long wait for scones. This said the whole experience was a lovely prelude to Christmas
