The good: excellent location, Lopud lovely, corner room at the front was great - spacious, modern and clean. Wonderful views, esp from the main pool. Spa very nice. Massage excellent. Private beach great to chill on. The bad: Food average at best. Service in restaurants not great, bad at times. Kids club poor, basically a storeroom in which the kids can colour (nice staff member though). Gym poor. Access to Dubrovnik not what we hoped - a few slow public ferries at inconvenient times of the day or surprisingly expensive private transfer (e200 each way). The organised ‘Dubrovnik by day’ trip only goes once a week and didn’t run when we there due to low numbers.

The views are what make this hotel! They are absolutely stunning and Lafodis is definitely an island I’d recommend. The hotel is nice and is a solid 4* although there were a few niggles and elements that are frugal. Downsides: we had an awful room when we first arrived and it took two days for them to move us but once moved it was lovely (& 3 days to give us single beds as requested originally). They only give you one beach towel for the whole stay and the breakfast is somewhat to be desired. Also by 2pm a large amount of the pool area is in shade and there are no sunshades with sunbeds. Also they charge you for the majority of the sunbeds on the private beach and for extra for cushions on the uncomfortable beds. The room beds are also uncomfortable and the WiFi didn’t work for me the whole time and due to the reception staff not being too helpful I chose my battles. Positives: the view - absolutely breathtaking, pool area is lovely. The lunch and dinners are faultless and you can use 4 different restaurants with half-board. The island is lovely also. The spa is well worth a visit and with any treatment (reasonably priced) you can use the roof sunbathing deck for all day for free. Rooms are modern (but worth upgrading to a higher level room), and the Bell boy was such a sweet boy. The sunsets at the beach bar are incredible. All in all it’s a solid 4*, whilst the reception staff, breakfast and sunbeds could be better it was a fantastic hols to which I really recommend.

Resort on a beautiful island

Arranged private transfer from airport due to timings, which was expensive but also amazing. From Dubrovnik to island on a speedboat. Definitely wows you on entry to hotel and once inside. Island is very beautiful to get peace. Staff at resort all very friendly, and also on the island. Only downside was the heating issue at the hotel which meant opening the patio doors on balcony. The patio gives a stunning view of the sea. Overall a great experience

Hotel doesn't live up to its potential

Pros: Private beach area is lovely, sea is clear and warm. Strange rules for use of sunbeds - those in first 2 rows have cushions and must be paid for.
I stayed at the Lafodia for 3 nights with my husband and adult daughter. We arrived on the Jadrolinija ferry from Dubrovnik, cost approx £2.50 per person. Lafodia hotel is approx 10 mins walk from Lopud port along the seafront. Lopud island is so beautiful with a wide bay and many picturesque old houses and shops, and the Lafodia is modern, large and ugly, not in keeping at all. The view from the hotel is absolutely amazing, big panorama across the bay to more islands and the mainland, fabulous. On arrival the reception staff were efficient but not very welcoming. Our room was a comfort suite which was spacious and well appointed with a balcony and sea view. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Everything in the room was high tech, so confusing work out how to control the air con. Pool is big and a good temperature with plenty of sun beds but no umbrellas which was odd, I kept having to move my sunbed next to walls to get tiny bit of shade. Food overall was average. We had one lunch at the Beach bar which was horrible. Breakfast was chaos - there was not nearly enough food for the number of people and not enough staff to replenish, so had to queue for ages waiting for food and crockery. There was no fresh fruit, eggs and cooked items were dry, coffee from coffee machine was tasteless, juice not fresh, but tea ok (after waiting for a teapot). Luckily we were only B&B so ate out in the local restaurants which were great.

Nice hotel, good private beach

Had a goodtime, but had to wait a hour and half in airport for pick up Inspite of booking a pick up. Many hotels of that standard would hAv compensated in some way for the shortcoming, they just said sorry will that do for the start of U r holiday!!!!
