yet again same as last year lack of insulation between rooms resulting in being able to hear all that was going on in the rooms next door asked to be moved to another room no chance even asked for a lower standard room and again no, hadnt even unpacked stayed 4 times now last two rooms supposed to be higher standard wrong! Will not stay or recomend again

It was good exploring the decks ,there were interesting features such as the bridge, large detailed models of various ships and an informative video of people over the years who have sailed the ship during war and leisure. The interior is much to be desired , room was tired and worn , sheets had ingrained stains on them and room not overly clean. It was difficult to get a hot drink after 6 o clock unless using room service offering tea or brewed coffee only. Struggled to understand resort fee charge and high car parking fee , definitely not a full service hotel as claimed.

Historically charming

Pros: The history attached to it.
Loved this experience, the highlight of our trip to California. Dont book this hotel if you expect 5 star luxury, yes the paint is peeling, some carpets thread-bare and the ship is in general need of some TLC. We booked a harbour view king room which was more spacious than expected. Plenty of room with a very comfortable large king bed. The restaurant Chowder House was excellent with great views of Longbeach. Take this for what it is, an old ship with wonderful historic charm and you wont be disappointed.

Unique opportunity to stay in 1930s luxury

A unique opportunity to stay in 1930s luxury. Yes it's not the cheapest hotel in the world and doesn't have 21st century facilities. What it does have is history oozing out of every nut and bolt, comfortable beds, TV and clean bathrooms. A superb experience.

Experience ok, however The ship is very tatty

Paid 150 dollars upgrade for the two nights. Wish I had seen it first. Silcon around the bath mouldy! No tea coffee facilities. Sink blocked in room despite complaining nothing done. Ripped carpets on the stairs. Rotten decks. Would not recommend.

Lots of history ... but

Pros: history
Cons: each passenger could be warned in advanced and asked to keep noise levels down and turn of tvs after say 10 pm
Location: not much to do nearby
Just be aware - the walls between rooms are thin and you can hear EVERY word form the next cabin- if you unlucky- as we were to have someone noisy - or who has their TV on late you will not get any sleep -the rooms are small - smaller than the photos shown- but ok -as a one off experience its fine but wouldnt stay again. Also be aware you are quite away from any where to eat so be prepared to pay hotel prices for food

Good experience to go back in time.

Many original features will preserved. It would have been more authentic if the sound of hum of the engines could be heard around the ship. I really enjoyed having access to all areas when day guests had gone. Food at the Chelsea was good. Really enjoyed the engine room exhibition and 4d theatre.
