Great location but a disappointing experience

Pros: Location and pool
Cons: The whole hotel needs a revamp and the front staff retrained.
Location: Very central location beside Metro station.
There's one young male receptionist who's fabulous the rest are cold and quite rude. We had a good size room but it smelt musty/old cigarette. The whole hotel needs a revamp. The breakfast wasn't great, its meant to be a four star and its definitely not that. The roof top pool and location saved our stay but I'd look for somewhere else if I stayed in Madrid again.

The rooms in the hotel are being renovating. Hope we can welcome you in a future, Best regards,

Close to centre of city

Pros: close to city centre
Cons: Club lounge needs updating and ensure beer is available
Location: close to everything
Bit disappointed with the club lounge, draught beer ran out on 2nd night, no beer 3rd night and then it was moved to a smaller room with cans of beer in the fridge, not what I expected from a club lounge that boasted of beer on draught

Great hotel, air conditioning needs upgrading

The room was absolutely amazing! Huge and nicely decorated. There were only really two things that would make me question a return. The air conditioning didn't work well and had no real effect on the tempature of the room so it was necessary to keep the windows open constantly. As the room looked out on the Gran Via it was consistently noisy and it made it very difficult to get a good night's sleep. Our visit was in October, but in summer the heat would be too much.

Good location on the Gran Via

Santa Domingo metro station straight outside. Took about 45 mins on the metro from the airport. Nice hotel. Walking distance to Palace, hop on hop off tour bus stops right outside. Would stay here again.

Best to avoid this hotel

Pros: Pleasant and attentive staff who responded to requests for assistance
Cons: Particularly strong smell of toilet pipes (Floor 4), in morning and evening up to nauseous levels. In corridors and rooms. Odour pumped into rooms also through through ventilation system. Room sold as 'Romantic Room' which meant very small 'standard room' but with option to have a cheap bottle of cava in bar(!) WiFi demanding to handle.

Excellent location with superb roof top pool.

Pros: Pool, location, peace and quiet right in the heart of Madrid.
Cons: Coffee and plumbing.
A very enjoyable stay in a centrally located hotel (Santo Domingo metro right outside). Unfortunately we had to have cold showers twice. Both times it was fixed quickly but slightly annoying all the same. Rooms are compact and mostly quiet but one of our rooms had virtually no daylight at all and was a bit claustrophobic. Realise this can't be avoided in a city hotel but for the price it wasn't expected. The pool really makes this hotel. It's a decent size and even when busy, you could still enjoy a nice swim. The pool staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Nice breakfast but coffee awful.

Great hotel but could be better

Excellent location on Grand Via with friendly &attentive staff. Rooftop pool area a real bonus in a capital city although it was really busy with no sun beds available so had to lie on floor. Pool bar a rip off @ €5.20 for a coke. Paid extra to upgrade to Club Room which included free food and snacks in Executive Lounge - turned out to be a meeting room in basement with a bowl of crisps & nuts with a bottle of gin, whiskey & schnapps with a few mixers. No tea or coffee etc....... as usual for an "Exec Lounge". Cannot comment on breakfast as we were room only, but imagine it would be expensive compared to the plethora of cafés on the doorstep of the hotel - paid €1.80 for coffee and toast about 250 yards from hotel at café on Grand Via.
