Have stayed at this property at least 8 times, and whilst it has always had it's problems, the staff has always done their best, This time however things were vastly different. On arrival we were asked for a £100 deposit as in July they had had a stag party there who had apparently damaged some property. Although this is mentioned in the paperwork, it is not made abundantly clear. We refused, and after a while the staff agreed to waive the deposit as we were regular customers. When we requested a safe, we were told that all safe keys had been lost and there were no longer any safes available. We were told we could leave our passports in a drawer at reception. I must point out that although the reception is 24hr manned, staff still need personal breaks and meals and at these times there is no cover. We stopped off at the "hotel" cafeteria, which is actually a franchise, and when I went to use the toilets they were locked,. I had to obtain the key from reception. When I asked why, I was told there was a drug problem. The hotel restaurant is now closed, and the cafeteria opens pretty much when it wants, This means customers now have no access to food or drinks in the mornings. The mattress on our double bed was comfortable, but bigger than the base, so as someone who tends to sleep on the edge of the bed, my wife kept rolling off! On the up side, a new cleaning team was in place who did a good job, even though our sheet couldn't be tucked in due to the mattress.

Good location out of the noisy, busy area

Pros: Staff,location, budget price
Location: Within 5 minutes of busy town centre. Lots of local interest for children & adults. Close to rail & bus services
What it says on the tin. Clean n tidy. Has seen better days but friendly staff make up for this.

Central to everything good spot

Pros: Location and amenities ideal for the shopping eating out and bars
Cons: Balcony bit small needs tea and coffee facilities kettle in room was none
Location: Lots f shopping lots of bars lots of restaurants ideal location very central
Hotel staff very helpful breakfast cold rooms ok for few nights plenty of bars eating out enjoyable stay can't complain

Ok hotel in the centre of the town

Enjoyed the stay just had problems sleeping with all the noisy spanish guests slamming doors very loud shouting in the corridors early hours in the morning, room above did not go to sleep until 4.00am very noisy.
