Great value airport hotel

Pros: The staff, who are all so welcoming & friendly. The club room. The free shuttle service with the best drivers!
Cons: Room service without a surcharge should be offered when there is a wedding in the bar next door as it is impossible to enjoy a meal.
Location: Manchester airport. Very close to both the airport & train station.
I always stay here when flying from Manchester & have found it great value & convenient. This trip I upgraded to a club room & it was worth it. The shower facilities were far better & the room much better decorated. The staff in this hotel are what makes it- especially Peter, the shuttle car driver & 'handyman'. He has driven me on a few occasions and always makes my day with his smile & friendly attitude. The only thing that let my stay down this time was the evening meal. There was a wedding on in the hotel that night & when I went down to eat, it was in full force in the bar next door. What I had hoped would be a relaxing meal was the total opposite. The music was blaring, people were screaming at each other & walking through the restaurant every 5 minutes to go for a fag. The door to the restaurant didn't close properly so that didn't help & they had the outside doors open meaning the whole place was freezing. I reluctantly ordered but paid immediately so I could head to my room as soon as I had eaten. I did not enjoy my meal at all. When I checked in I mentioned I would be eating in the restaurant around 8pm- had I been warned about the wedding I would have eaten earlier, before they hit the bar. I think if there is a wedding in the hotel, meaning guests cannot enjoy a meal in the restaurant, room service should be offered without the £5 surcharge. This issue however will not put me off from staying here in the future. It is a fab little hotel!

This hotel is OK, but is very tired, would benefit from a refurbishment. On the positive note food was excellent, staff very helpful and very close to the airport (hotel do have shuttle service)

Good location for airport - needs refurbishment

Arrived at hotel - in a good location for airport parking - would not say it was a warm welcome from reception The pictures on website are of a false impression swith the nice pictures of bedroom - when we booked it said 4 poster room - we got nothing like it we stayed in room 6 and it was a standard bed and room / bathroom needed a refurb pretty much run down Overall it was satisfactory for our needs as we arrived late at night and left early for airport

Great hotel located close to the airport

Pros: Clean, friendly and comfortable hotel. Transfers to and from the hotel superb.
Cons: The only thing would be a mug instead of a cup for the tea/ coffee facilities but really a very minor point
Great place for an overnight stay. Good location. Only there overnight and arrived late and left early so no food or facilities used other than the bed!

A Little Gem in a Big Boys Playground

Pros: Peter the driver and porter and the lovely room number 74.
Cons: Look at menu pricing and staffs first expression to customers.
Location: 2 mins from Terminals 1 and 3. Just far enough not to be a hear to mo
A wonderful start to my start. The service offered for airport transfer at no extra cost. This is topped off my the fantastically high service stand the driver and porter Peter gives to all his guests in the taxi. Room very well cleaned. Lovely old style to the rooms and bar. The young restaurant staff could do with following Peters high service standard. It didn't reflect the prices on the menu. The food however was of a scrumptious high standard
