Great stay- free chocs at check in. Set up a special room for kids as it’s half term with table tennis, table football, DVD player, books, drawing and games. Free transfer to airport was timely. More than was expected.

A fabulous experience due to the spot on 100% customer care. Breakfast was a delight. The food was good quality and a large selection. And the staff were fabulous. No surprise to me at all why Chef Glynis has won the Employee of the Year several times over. And her sincere professional manner clearly rubs off onto the younger members of the team. Main was kind enough to bring me Fresh lemon, fresh ginger and honeycomb because they could see I was unwell with a cough and laryngitis. And even gave me a second cup to takeaway The whole reason I chose this hotel was they collect you from the station free of charge. And then in the morning v they take you to the airport free of charge. I would choose this hotel again now. I did have an issue with my bath taps not working. But was moved professionally and quickly to another room which was also an upgrade with robes and slippers and water bottles. Slept like a dream. Pillows were fabulous mattress perfect. Linen crisp and good quality. Air con all working. The biggest tv I’ve ever seen. Could have done with help from a Porter with my bags. it was hard to wheel 2 suitcases on carpet. But there didn’t appear to be one. And I wasn’t offered help. Maybe a point to improve in there.

Bathroom shower difficult to control temp. Room looked 'tired' and well used. Linen fresh and clean. Beds comfortable and heating fine. Meals in restaurant very average for the price. Beer and wine pricey. Had full English breakfast which was very good and fresh. At £15 a bit heavy but worth it. All in all would recommend for an o/n stop.

Excellent service, allowed us to check back in when early morning flight delayed, and even offered late check out unprompted.

Arrived at Easter time and there were some Easter treats available at check-in, which was a nice surprise. The reception staff where very welcoming and friendly. I was asked what type of room preferences I had and I said I would like a quiet room. The lady at reception said that she was upgrading us to a better room, which was quiet. Our room, on floor 4, was almost at the end of the corridor, which meant that it would be quiet from other guests arriving/departing their own rooms. First impressions was that the carpet was dull, tatty and frayed and it was freezing. The cold was quickly rectified by turning off the A/c and we could not seem to get heat of of the a/c unit. We didn't like that there were 2 connection doors to the rooms at either side of us but I don;t think anyone was in those rooms so it caused us no issues. I could hear running water in the background. I traced the sound to water in the plastic pipes in the removable ceiling just above the kettle station. It was obvious that the ceiling tiles had been removed many times before, probably by other guests, as they did not fit properly at that point. I didn't do anything about the problem thinking that it wouldn't cause us too much of an issue. However, I was wrong and I should have expected that as I am a very light sleeper! The water sounds continues all through the night ... it was like someone peeing in our bathroom all night.
