Good location

The bed was really uncomfortable and hard, myself and my partner struggled to sleep and we both now have backache. The bed was meant to be a king bed but no way was it that side it was a double. We was so disappointed with our stay

Nice hotel, shame about SOME staff

The staff members at the main desk were dismissive when we checked in and dismissive when we checked out. If it was not for the doorman, the restaurant staff and the bar staff, this could have ruined our stay. Those other staff members were courteous, polite, attentive and definitely what we would expect. The hotel needs more of those types of friendly and helpful staff members and less of the arrogant ones that were on reception. As for the hotel itself, it is an oasis in a sea of blandness. The room was different, in a good way, down to the decor and layout. The food was fantastic, worth going for a meal, even if you're not staying there. The breakfast was great too. Maybe putting the comment about the reception staff at the front of this review will make the hotel managers consider training for said staff, after all they represent the first impression of the hotel. Improve on this and those that don't write a review but would have complained to others will be more likely to praise what is otherwise a decent and potentially a fantastic hotel, with otherwise fantastic staff.

Nice hotel close to canal street

Pros: Location, staff
Cons: Room refresh
Great staff, hotel room was a bit tired looking! Chipped bedside cabinets, wonky/loose bedside light bit of a let down for an executive double. Stay was great though and the staff where brilliant.

It was OK...

Pros: It was new to the office I was visiting.
Cons: Rooms are starting to show their age, restaurant was over priced even for a hotel (both Dinner and Breakfast). Food service took an age to deliver.
Having stayed in the Malmaison Manchester when it first opened I was looking forward to going back. However its changed beyond recognition from those early days. Its not the standout hotel it once was, its now just another Hotel, would I stay here again. Well the answer is yes but only if it was the cheapest hotel in the area.

hotel was lovely..

Very good apart from horrendous noisy pipes running through the room which went off and on all night. Apart from that, staff were very helpful, food was excellent and the facilities good.
