Nice. Hotel but not sure it’s the money

Room not ready to check into arrived after 3pm. Get to room only to find a disappointing level of cleanliness given the 5* price ticket, had to move out while room was cleaned properly were offered another room but given we had paid extra for city view other room was not an option, moving in and out of the room did impact on the time we had to relax before getting ready to go out which made the start of our evening very rushed and lacked the relaxing atmosphere we had hoped for. We received a complimentary glass of wine each, which given the inconvenience caused seemed less than generous. The whole experience took the shine off what was meant to be weekend of celebration. 5* prices should come with 5* service. Real shame because the hotel itself is beautiful and Manchester is a fabulous City for a weekend away!

Centrally located but not the best time to stay

Pros: Comfort, attention to detail in the rooms.Good breakfast
Cons: Advanced warning of events causing disruption ( e.g. the Tory party conference) The whole area was disrupted and there was a high police presence.
Location: Near museums, theatres bars, restaurants.Ideal location.
The hotel itself was lovely and the staff helpful and friendly. However,we stayed on 29th September,2 days before the Tory party conference began, and outside, workers were erecting a ring of steel throughout the night with noisy machinery and shouting. Not the best recipe for a good night's sleep. I was awake until past 4am,so was completely shattered the next day. I spoke to the manager who said I should have asked to move (it was around 2am when we returned from my daughter's wedding party) but I was under the impression that the hotel was full.He has offered me the chance to get a "good deal" on a future stay, which,as we are locals, is unlikely to happen unless another hotel deal can be offered. At the moment,I don't feel that I have been offered adequate compensation, but we'll see if something can be agreed upon. The hotel should have known about the overnight work and warned guests, offering us the chance to move before occupying the room.

Excellent for city center.

Pros: Well run.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: All the amenities of a big city, plus the Bridgewater Hall.
Nothing to complain about, but the hotel is shown on the Manchester tourist information as five star, this is I feel an exaggeration, four stars I feel should be the rating.

Great hotel and service, shame about the AC

Great rooms with friendly and efficient staff. My only issue is that despite setting the Air Conditioning at 18 Degrees, the output was nowhere like. This meant that all night the room was extremely stuffy and I had a very poor nights sleep. The issue was exacerbated by the fact that this was an internal room (room 216) which has no eternal windows. Minor point, but there is no documentation in regards to the TV being a Wi-Fi HotSpot. The in room folder points you to the public area Wi-Fi (which was sporadic at best) and makes no mention of the TV Hotspot, which I found by accident. Once I was connected to this, it was much more stable.

Client & quiet

Clean quiet & pleasant stay. Spa wasn't that impressive, much smaller than picture & sauna didn't work. Overall a nice night away.

Great hotel in perfect central location

Super comfy bed, great facilities and really friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you. We asked for late checkout the night before and they gave us an extra 2hrs free. Would definitely stay again.

Abandoned in the dark with a 3 year old

Pros: some of the staff were lovely
Cons: the emergency procedures and communication
Location: good location and thank goodness there were things to do outside of the darkness
It has taken a week to provide this review as our visit was so traumatic. I arrived with my 3 year old daughter at 1130 and we were pleased to be on the 10th floor. Ten minutes after arriving, as we finished unpacking, the fire alarm went off and we had to walk down the 10 flights of stairs. We were told there was a fire in the kitchen and everything would be ok later. We returned at 4pm but the lifts were still out with the rest of the electricity. We went out for another hour - still off. I walked up to the 10th floor for our swimming stuff and my daughter sat with a lovely lady (hence the 5 for her which gives a 3 overall for hotel staff). We were told it would be sorted after swimming - it was not at 6pm, cold showers. We went to the restaurant - and at 8pm the electricity was still off. Reception asked me what the solution was! My 3 year old then walked up 10 flights of stairs, along dark corridors and we were abandoned with a pen torch which failed after 10 minutes. She cried herself to sleep. We were woken at 3am by the electricians but the electricity was off at 8am. Had I known that I would be in a dark room, with just a pentorch and a distressed little girl then I would have gone home on arrival. Why were we not communicated with effectively? Why was proper lighting not provided? Why were we not moved to another hotel? We got a refund - after I rang and texted. The worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. My daughter has had night terrors since.

The best hotel in Manchester

Pros: The staff were exceptionally attentive and this made the difference.
This was our first time in the radisson and we were extremely impressed. The facilities were first rate and the deluxe room we had was of a very high standard. This hotel would definitely be our first choice next we stay in Manchester.
