Always a pleasure to visit this lovely hotel. We could not have picked a better place a year ago for our honeymoon and then more recently for our first anniversary. The staff are always delightful and the breakfast is always delicious. The building and the grounds are beautiful, as are the views!

Lovely old building, fantastic gardens and settings but needs some proper maintenance and tlc. Lacks that 5 star quality due to some basic staff training issues/management issues.

Excellent location and staff were very professional, charming, welcoming and couldn’t do enough. Property esp the garden is spectacular & beautifully maintained. Our room at the coach house was very very small for a double. No room to manoeuvre , also the room was a sun trap surprised there wasn’t a fan or air con in situ. Bathroom cold tap was un stable needed fixing. Building walls quite thin could hear other guests talking/tv till early hours and doors slamming. At breakfast quickly ran out of fresh fruit and juice which remained unreplenished. Plates weren’t being cleared from table until after finishing breakfast. Inconsistencies in cooked breakfast we had bacon but no sausage on the plate, but it was delicious breakfast so didn’t have heart to ask therefore not value for the amount paid for the privilege to stay.

We had a fabulous stay for our 1st wedding anniversary this week. The place is beautiful and fascinating to explore. We were upgraded to an exec room before we even arrived without asking and the staff were so pleasant and helpful. We would definitely recommend and we will back in the future for sure.
