This city isn't short on things to do, and many of them are found near Monterrey Centro. It's no simple task to pick the top attractions, but Parque Plaza Sesamo and the Casino Jubilee are two you shouldn't miss out on. You should also take a look around the Horno 3 Steel Museum and Fundidora Park. While you're in town, think about visiting other neighbourhoods to see more of what Monterrey has to offer. Santa Lucia Riverwalk and San Pedro Garza Garcia are good suggestions that aren't too far away.
There are loads of reasons why so many travellers head straight for the city centre. Explanada de los Heroes and Macroplaza are just two of them. You'd be mad to go back to your hotel room without stopping at Fuente de la Vida o Neptuno and the Faro de Comercio as well.
Holidaying without the little tackers? The Foliatti Casino and the Casino Monterrey deserve to be right up the top of your plan.
Some fantastic cultural sites are just waiting for you. Start off at the Pinacoteca de Nuevo Leon and the Centro Cultural Arte.
If you've got an interest in art, arrange a trip to the La Pinacoteca del Estado and the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo. Walk around and if one of the pieces catches your eye, chat to the staff about its background.
If you luck out and get stuck with nasty weather, take cover at the Museo del Vidrio, the Museo de Historia Mexicana, the Museo Metropolitano de la Ciudad de Monterrey and the Museo del Obispado. The intriguing collections are sure to keep your brain buzzing and your clothes dry!
There's nothing quite like the feeling of excitement when a performance is due to get under way. Take your seat and wait for the curtains to go up at the Convex Exposition Center and Auditorium Pabellón M.
The sights, sounds and smells of the Parque Zoologico La Pastora and the Bioparque Estrella are a real treat for those with a passion for animals.
Are the kids getting restless with all the history and culture? Give them a break and visit some of the local family friendly attractions. KidZania Monterrey and Bosque Magico are some much-loved options.
Nothing calms a busy mind quite like the sounds, sights and smells of Mother Nature. Experience it for yourself at Cerro de la Silla and Canon de la Huasteca.
If the liveliness of the city is getting a bit much, head to one of the nearby local parks. Alameda, Parque La Pastora and Parque Espana are charming spots to kick back and relax.
The shopping experience is different for everyone. Whether you know what you're after or just doing a bit of impulse buying, you'll love your time at Plaza Mexico, Plaza Fiesta San Agustin, Galerias Monterrey and Paseo San Pedro.
Barrio Antiguo, Capilla de los Dulces Nombres, the Antiguo Palacio Federal and Plaza Zaragoza have many stories to tell. History nerd or not, you're sure to find out something at these weathered, old sites.
If you're intrigued by different religions, you should visit Basilica de Guadalupe, Iglesia Sagrado Corazon de Jesus, Metropolitan Cathedral of Our Lady of Monterrey and Basilica Parroquia La Purisima.
Passionate about your soccer? Then you'll want to take some yellow and blue with you to cheer on the Tigres UANL at Estadio Universitario.
