The staff were very warm and welcoming , tgey arranged for me to have non allergic bedding before i got there and also the overall experience if the stay was fantastic. Only critiscm is that on checkout we booked a taxi and the staff member hailed a normal cab and charged us double to what we normally pay from Colaba to Juhu .

Pleasant stay

Pros: The pool area is very attractive and well served by attentive staff; the Masala Kraft restaurant is very good.
Cons: If the Palace Lounge cannot provide the Club level service for all guests then reduce the number of club rooms or find new premises for the lounge
The hotel is certainly very grand and we would thoroughly recommend Masala Kraft as a great eating place. However the hotel was also very busy and as a result the Club Lounge could not accommodate us both nights so we had to go and sit in another lounge and wait for items to be shuttled to us. Likewise breakfast we could not use the Sealounge and had to eat in the Tower despite paying for a Palace Club room. Interestingly all our friends staying in the hotel who booked ordinary rooms got Club upgrades on check in and our other friend who had booked club got a suite. We got exactly what we paid for - ok no reason to complain just curious. We never saw our "butler" or had the goodies left for us on Night 2 that our friends had. On check in they noticed our mini bar had not been stocked up which they did and then proceeded to charge us for it - the bill was adjusted on check out but it was an annoyance. Not sure I would stay here again when we cruise from India, I think there are other wonderful hotels who could offer equally good service, maybe if we had had some "Taj magic" we would have felt differently.

Fantastic experience it's hospitaliy, room Hygenic service cleaning All staff every were All round breakfast room ect were 100% exelent service words can't subrcribe the staff & there gust service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Heritage wing India Gate View a must

Pros: Everything a magical experience.
Cons: Better communication on what's included in your price.
Location: India gate next door. Heritage tour of hotel 5.30pm each day. Victoria Station, Watson hotel where it all started. Ghandi house, The Laundry,
I stayed here for 2 nights at the end of a 2 week trip to India & it was a fantastic way to end the trip, worth every penny. Definitely worth paying extra to stay in the old Heritage wing on 5th or 6th floor with view of India Gate. We had a fab room, butler service 24 hours, entry to the lounge where hot and cold drinks with biscuits available complimentary all day. Free wine & cocktails between 6-8pm and with the cost of alcohol in India this was great and then complimentary cognac and chocolates after dinner ...oh I forgot the complimentary high tea from 3.30-5pm. The pool area was lovely and the lobster was fantastic at the poolside grill in the evening. You must book the complimentary Heritage tour at 5.30pm each day which is very interesting. We had a complimentary transfer back to the airport...I way was included in the price and our driver was brilliant. As we had time to spare he took us on a trip around Mumbai to Ghandis house, Victoria Station, the Laundry and Watson hotel which was so nice, obviously we gave him a tip but it was just an unexpected extra ...such great hospitality. The flowers in the hotel are stunning, and a lovely top and tail welcome and goodbye given by the staff. I will never forget this experience. Our room was 624 on the 6th floor. Highly recommend.

Fabulous hotel with the most wonderful staff

This is a beautiful historic hotel. Beautiful rooms with all expected amenities and comfort. The most amazing swimming pool in the centre. Great range of restaurants and 2 bars. What really makes it though are the staff. Without fail, they were friendly, professional and caring. Could not have done more to make out stat feel really special. This was our 3rd visit and we will definitely be back!

Fantastic Hotel

The Taj met every aspect of our expectations and more. The staff were very welcoming from the get-go. We were also fortunate to receive an upgrade with our room which we highly appreciated as the room was of high standard and very palacial. I would definitely go back to the Taj on my next visit to Mumbai.

It's a quirky grande dame of a place

I have stayed at other luxury hotels in Bombay over the last 3 or 4 years and never thought I'd go for this one, but thought the location and its reputation was worth it for a room share with a friend visiting India for the first time. The staff are fabulous, but what makes it all the more fabulous is the quirkiness of the service. Let me explain. Day 1 - eggs florentine at breakfast, five minutes. Day 2 - eggs florentine at breakfast, no sign of them after 20 minutes. Huge tugging of forelock, even a visit from the chef (female, always good to see a woman holding their own in a top kitchen) to explain why they took so long. Day 3 - eggs florentine, would you like one or two, two, two arrive but individually plated onto two plates. Just a teensy bit of the Basil Fawltry going on here, but adding to the character. The rooms in the Tower section are a bit tired, but there is a refurbishment programme going on to the exterior so maybe the rooms will be next. Just a bit dated and almost 1980s hotel look about the style. Fabulous Firest Essentials toiletries too. 2 different rooms, the first had a partial view of water, but predominantly overlooked the Bombay Yacht Club. Second room for final night was fifteenth floor sea facing. I scored the jackpot. The view was superlative. Quite superlative. Would I stay there again? Probably not. I prefer the other hotels I have stayed at (Trident and Four Seasons) for their more contemporary and efficient feel, but I loved my stay here. The staff are all enthusuastio and never walk past any guest without saying good morning, good afternoon, good evening, always with a genuine smile too. I think the staff really enjoy working here and nothing seems forced in their behaviour. A special mention to the room attendant who I thought may have been slightly OCD when I returned to find Velcro cable ties attached to my phone charger cables etc. And to all the other room attendants as I overheard another guest this morning commenting favourably on their Velcro cable ties too. I promise to look after them carefully and use them at home too.......
