The George & Horn Small room three beds 3 Adults

Pros: Friendly staff clean room
Cons: Change the breakfast times
Location: Sandford Springs Golf club is close by. Kingsclere is a pretty & short drive away are the downs with fantastic views of Andrew L. Webber home
The down side for the three of us sharing the room was the fact we had been to a reunion at the local Golf club and did not get back to the Hotel until 4 am. So It was quite a shock to find Breakfast was from 7 AM to 8AM. This is the third time we have staid at the hotel. Never had a problem, found The staff help full and friendly. The full English breakfast has always been excellent. This was the first time we had this notice that Breakfast was from 7 am to 8 AM. We departed the Hotel with out being able to ask the manger why the had changed the breakfast time. As He knew we would be getting back late at night, as he had given us the keys to get back into the hotel in the early hours. As would most of the ex retired BA crew who were also staying at the George & Horn that night, The room did have snacks and tea coffee we could make, when we woke up. Sadly due to the very early breakfast dining Time, we did not have the time to brew up Tea or Coffee. We will return to the George & Horn for our next reunion. I understand That The manger will change the early breakfast times.

Perfect overnight stay

Cons: Fresh coffee as against sachets, longer breakfast period, disconnect speakers in some areas and turn the volume down!
This is an old traditional pub, very authentic. My room was above the bar, noise from bar evident, suggest ear-plugs in your luggage! The restaurant and pub area is separated by the "bar". Throughout the pub area are very loud,loudspeakers, so a "quiet drink" is only possible sitting in restaurant, thats only my preference. The staff very friendly and helpful. I think they stop serving food at 9pm, Breakfast was excellent, though only served between 7-8am, so that's a bit of a rush. I had a double room, very clean with all amenities, though quite small, but perfect for a night or two. Bathroom has a shower which on my visit had problem with the tap, loose and not providing cold water, reported this to morning staff who gave impression it would be addressed. overall It's perfect for a night or two and I'd stay again
