Dear Anonymous, I am writing to you in follow up to the feedback you have provided to us on 21st April with in regards to your recent stay. Our Hotel commitment is to deliver a superior level of service and product that exceeds our guests’ expectations. To learn that we have not been able to realise this commitment is disappointing and I would like to express our sincerest apologies. Thank you for mentioning that our staff are friendly and you enjoyed the location of the hotel. We were dumbfounded to learn that you encountered brown water and as a result was unable to utilise the spa as booked. Our Maintenance team have investigated the issue raised. The cause of the discolouration of the water from your spa bath was due to a higher level of tannins in the water pipes and flow. Tannins are natural organic matter that results from nature’s fermentation process. Although aesthetically displeasing, tannins do not pose a health issue nor does it mean the water was dirty in any way. Our hotel, like many other hotels, has chlorination and subsequent filtration systems in place in addition to activated carbon filters which reduces the visibility and presence of tannins levels. It is regrettable and it was unforeseeable that a part of this filtration system failed during your stay. We believe preventative maintenance is key and this is how we operate however there are few and far between rare occasions when processors or systems can fail without notice such as this instance.
