great service

Pros: staff were fantastic
Cons: more towels in a room for 4 people we only had 2 towels.
Location: easy to find and get to by car. lots of things to do in Newcastle if you can drive.
was able to check in early. staff very helpful for our requirements. clean room. great service. we did not have breakfast as we felt it was expensive. but it did smell lovely as we walked past the dining room in the morning! would recommend this hotel but please be aware it is not near shops or town centre.

Visually uninspiring but well equipped inside

Pros: Room comfortable Staff friendly
Cons: Bed too small Pool small and odd arrangement getting from changing room to pool
Location: Handily located on A1 and A19
The hotel is located just off the large roundabout on the A19 just off the A1. Check in was a little frustrating as the receptionist took care of paperwork before welcoming us. However after that annoying glitch she was pleasant and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable although the bed was on the smallish side. Good range of tv channels. Nice meal in the restaurant although prices on the high side. Enjoyed pool in the morning though a little odd to change and walk through spa reception to get to pool. Lots of noisy kids didn't make for a relaxing experience

Functional, clean and tidy. Breakfast not a highlight but acceptable, extensive choice. Juice is somewhat questionable as too is the coffee, the scrambled or fried eggs are not pleasant but might suit some but rubbery and overcooked are not for me. Service okay. Very friendly (probably some of the best service experiences I've ever received in a 'chain') hotel. Absolutely every member of staff smiled and acknowledged us the only one exception was a member of staff on duty in the spa area (more interested in his mobile). Housekeeping was very good. Some lack of care as glasses left outside overnight and well into the day. Odd discarded bottles lying around the perimeter of the building (left by guests unconcerned by their negligence, ignorance and lack of respect for others or their environment - put your litter in a bin, please - why should anyone clear up after you). Reasonably priced.

Rugger Fans

As a moixed group of rugger fans joining a host of other fans we were warmly made welcome to crips, clean well maintained facility. Rooms were modern, clean and warm and the staff pitched a professional manner to a bouyant crowd. Absolute great welcoming full breakfast in the morning, lots of hot options as well a cold things! If I am returning to the area I would use the hotel. Qick trip in a taxi got you to middle of town

The hotel rooms looked tired

We were attending a wedding in newcastle in the city centre, so this was ideal as we travelled from Edinburgh. The reception area was good and clean and the staff were good at the counter. A bit disappointed in the condition of the room. Carpet was dirty ,it had not been hovered properly. The walls looked like they needed a good lick of paint and the ceilings were badly decorated.
