On both our meals, extras were added on to my bill. On one occasion an extra course was added on. Then again for dinner the following night, another side was added on and 3 coffees and a tea, for one adult! In total, on two meals, I got the wrong items on my bill three times. This is a 5 star property. Disappointing. The room super small, the beds tiny, the TV screen tiny and no facility to dry your clothes or swimwear from spa. The room felt stuffy from the old carpet.

Lovely place to stay, full of charm and great history. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was really good, there was a massive lounge to relax in , dogs are very welcome. I really can't fault the experience. Highly reccomend it!

Lovely hotel with great views.

We stayed 3 nights over a weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary and to attend the wedding of 2 of our friends which was held in the hotel. Just about everything about the hotel was perfect, the only small negative was breakfast on the Sunday morning. The restaurant was very busy and hence some of the choices, both hot and cold, ran out, and although they were replaced, this took quite along time. The staff were really helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We had a courtyard room, and although it was not very big, it was fine for 3 nights, and bathroom was a good size. The cleaning staff were very good and toiletries, tea and coffee etc were replaced everyday. The hotel had a lovely spa with pool, steam room, sauna, solar showers and Jacuzzi, which we made the most of. There were massages and treatments available, but these were expensive. Also expensive was the price of drinks, but the views from the bar areas were wonderful. The wedding was well organised and passed off very smoothly, and considering there were 50 people at the reception, the staff did an excellent job of bringing out the lovely food and clearing the tables.

Lovely Hotel. Good facilities

Very nice relaxing stay. The owner won't use branded beer glasses. He should! They add massively to the experience of having a nice drink.

Stunning location

I visited the hotel over 30 years ago and there have certainly been some changes. It still has its old world charm, it accepts dogs, and there is a considerable amount of work going on building the aqua centre. What makes this hotel is the view - it’s simply stunning. Fistral beach looks good in any weather :-) Staff are very friendly and helpful. I will definitely return.

Great staff, amazing views stunning hotel

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in Newquay. My one and only complaint (and this was not the hotels fault) is that we happened to be there the weekend before Halloween. Kids were running around the hotel, screaming, some were throwing things. A poor elderly gentlemen almost got knocked over from kids running from lounge room to room. Multiple times kids watching loud shows on their iPads while their parents were no where to be seen. I wish I would have known the hotel was hosting a kids event all week.

Beautiful hotel, beautiful view

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Tim at reception was helpful and polite and explained the facilities. Sadly we were only there one night, but I could have stayed a long time. Our room was perfect, the sea view stunning. I had to wait quite a while for my vegetarian breakfast which was the only disappointment. Apart from that I couldn't have wanted anything to be any different in any way, and if I have the chance to go back I'd love to.
