Very disappointing stay at this property. We arrived around 11:30pm after a long long drive, but despite being told there was a 24 hour reception, we had to wait 15 minutes for someone to actually turn-up and check us in. When we were actually dealt with and went to our allocated room it was extremely hot with no means of turning the heating down. We phoned down to 'reception' and were abruptly told the heating was on a timer and that's just how hot it it. We were advised he might be able to get us a fan, but guess what, this did not come and we had to sleep on top of the covers with both windows open, this resulted in bugs getting in and us getting bitten. The next day we spoke to reception again, we were told someone from maintenance would look into it but this never happened and a member of staff simply turned up with a very lightweight fan that failed to cool the room down, as a consequence this resulted in not actually being able to spend any time in the room during our stay, other than when attempting to sleep, which was extremely uncomfortable. Surely any type of modern hotel should have in-room temperature controlled facilities because not everyone likes rooms to be roasting hot. Very poor.

Nice hotel

We liked our stay, nice hotel, good food, lovely view of the bridge. The only problem we had is to get from city centre to North Ferribly after 11pm. No taxi wanted to go there. Literally noone! So if you are staying in this hotel and going out in the city, beware.

Terrible noise until 2am

Pros: Good facilities and breakfast
Cons: Better noise control, more friendly staff, warning when booking if wedding party is also occurring.
Booked a room for one adult and two children (12 and 14), room provided was a double (unsuitable for two children of these ages) bed with a single camper bed which was at floor level with the worst mattress I have ever seen. Terrible noise from wedding party guests directly outside of our first floor window until 2am in the morning (shouting and screaming), unable to report as telephone in room was not working. When reporting the following morning, was told that this could not be helped as they had a large wedding party in and noise should be expected. Room cleanliness was overall good except for large amounts of mould underneath bath mat. Restaurant area and breakfast were very good.

Never again

The hotel was very nice but the customer service let it down, big time. The arrangements for dining seemed to have no organisation at all, my booking for our evening meal was lost, and the attitude of the staff was very off putting, they seemed impatient and pushy. I was offered complimentary drinks and they didn't even manage to get those right. I wouldn't go back again.

Looked lovely, and rooms were pleasant but the service in the restaurant was dreadful, after ordering our food we were told they couldn't cook it because there was a large party to serve so we had to wait 2 1/2hours, the attitude of the staff wasn't welcoming either. With one or two other little things added as well we won't be going back.

Overnight stop

Stayed here as a stopover. Lovely location with a view of the Humber bridge. Food in restaurant was ok. Nice sauna.

The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful but who on earth decided that you do not need an electric socket for a shaver in the bathroom? Reception gave me 3 adaptors but none of them worked and in the end I bought one in Hessle. It only cost £ 1.50 but it was a nuisance to have to go and buy one. The view of the Humber Bridge and river is magnificent by moonlight.
