The toilet was full of dirty water on arrival and the tv wasn’t working, supposedly it had not been working all week yet this was never mentioned in advance or at check in.

Very good experience all round.only one night stay but will definitely repeat again and my wife and I never do the same place twice.

Fantastic stay - a little gem of a surprise

Pros: The location matched just what we were looking for. The rooms were fantastic and so comfortable. The pub and food were extremely enjoyable & on site.
Cons: Slight different options for vegetarians at breakfast
Location: In the country, need a car to get around. Good location to get to many lovely destinations in North Yorkshire
We stayed at The Black Horse Inn on an overnight trip to North Yorkshire. We picked here quite by chance - we were looking for a pub with accommodation that appeared to have good food to relax, have a bite to eat, a good pint and not venture very far till the next morning. Well what an extremely pleasant surprise! It is located in the country and not much else within walking distance, but lovely scenery. We were given the Milton Suite and absolutely loved it. The room was decorated very well and was extremely comfortable. Great bed and bedding. Some lovely touches - mugs with hot chocolate and Curly Wurlys. A cafetiere and fresh coffee. Fridge with water, fresh orange and milk. The bathroom was really big with a large bath and walk in shower. We were provided with bathrobes and great big bath sheets not to mention some lovely toiletries. I especially thought the little tin of bits and pieces we might need was a good touch. The food was excellent with set menu of two or three courses for a good price. There were about half a dozen choices on each course. There was a good selection of drinks including real ales. There was a lovely real fire ablaze too. It is dog friendly. The breakfast was very good. My only slight criticism was not offering a vegetarian breakfast although the full breakfast without meat was a good substitute. I would have liked a vegetarian sausage and/or pudding. The staff were very friendly and provided great service. I would say if you can - give it a go!

A wonderful relaxing experience

Pros: The bedroom suites are large roomy and very well presented
Cons: Nothing we really liked it as it is
Location: Location is fine if you want a quiet out of the way location this is it. Plenty of places within 8miles if you want to shop
A nice afternoon drink by the open fire. Excellent staff who always had time to talk. Followed by a lovely meal in the restaurant with excellent choose. Highly recommended
