Located in Norwich, The Georgian Townhouse is in the suburbs. Norwich Castle and St John the Baptist Cathedral are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Mousehold Heath and High Ash Farm. Looking to enjoy an event or a game while in town? See what's happening at Carrow Road or UEA Sportspark. Our guests appreciate the hotel's central location.
The room was charming. But most of the staff we encountered were either miserable, or cold. Mainly the bar staff and especially the waitress who served us breakfast. The breakfast was dire. We had the veggie full English. It was meant to come with v.pud, it didn’t, pre-made nasty scrambled egg, that was tasteless and watery, the smallest overcooked slimy spinach, two rubberised field mushrooms devoid of flavour, same for the tomatoes and some congealed beans, and two McCain hash browns that arrived separately, and one dry sausage. It was all served in a surly manor. But what was really off putting was the really loud banter from the open kitchen. We felt like we were eating in the staff room, we could hear everything about their personal conversations, and about customers they were discussing. The waitress was very put out when I asked for marmalade, and glared at my daughter when we left. FOH were always polite, but were unable to hear us at reception. The hotel was charming, but clearly feeling the strain of the festive season.
