I recall playing in the grounds of this mansion when it was boarded up and deralict. But now, the former home of Lord Byron has been brought to splendid life with a full restoration. With views of the lake from the rear terrace it is a perfect setting for wedding venues.. which is why I spent a night here conducting research. Will we come back to have the wedding ? Its a strong contender on our list

Nice hotel full of character

Pros: Staff and the character of the hotel
Cons: Make people aware that there is no view from executive rooms
Location: Very close to the city centre and right next to the race course
Great overall experience the only down side was that there was no view from our room. I am told that all executive rooms have no views you need to upgrade to a superior room to get a view. Overall though a really nice hotel with excellent staff.
