    5/5 Excellent

The new management took over only two weeks ago and they are working very hard (and succeeding) to create a welcoming and comfortable place. We had help with our luggage on both checkin and checkout and good suggestions for things to do. We were only there for one night and wished it was longer. Located within an easy 10-minute drive from the center of Oban, the Oyster is right on the highway with easy access and free parking. Beautiful view from the restaurant out over the bay. The pub is not to be missed both for its ambiance and excellent meals. Rooms are not brand new but very clean, quiet, and comfortable.

Book someplace else! Old mattresses and no SCREENS

Thought this looked like a good place to stay, but then found out it was not what we thought. Food was just 'ok' but the worst part was that the rooms we booked were HOT (even with old fashioned radiator off!) and although the outside temp was 58F, we couldn't leave the window open because of the bugs (they call them miggies) outside and NO SCREENS on the windows!! Worst part was the bed - VERY old mattresses made it had to sleep on because every time you turned over the springs made noise (but luckily didn't come through). Breakfast was just okay and staff the same. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone else.
