Good hotel right in city centre

Pros: Terrific location, friendly staff, very clean basic rooms, quality linen. Breakfast buffet nothing less than awesome!
Cons: Hotel is kept very clean, but think some of the carpets in the rooms need replacing.
Location: One minute from main street in Oslo (Karl Johan) - parliament building at end of street, close to galleries, museums, harbour, restaurants, shops.
Great location, short walk from train station/metro, easy to find. Lovely staff, very willing to help with any queries. Rooms basic, comfortable and very clean, good quality linen, good clean bathrooms. Sumptuous breakfast buffet, so much to choose from - wonderful fresh food, and a chance to try some Norwegian classics for breakfast, great staff on hand. I asked about evening buffet, which is at a fixed price, but was told it did not cater for vegetarians, so cannot comment on evening meals available. But so close to main street in city centre that you can easily walk to virtually anywhere in the city. Also VERY close to Metro station. Safe storage for luggage for the day you leave.

Hissi meni rikki lauantai-aamuna eikä sitä saatu toimintaan sunnuntaina siihen mennessä, kun poistuimme. Meillä oli safety boxin paristo loppu ja se jäi vaihtamatta pyynnöstä huolimatta. Henkilökunta oli muuten erittäin ystävällinen.

super gelegen, mitten in der Stadt.

Pros: das reichhaltige Frühstück ist kaum zu überbieten...ausser vielleicht den Filterkaffee mit einem richtigen Kolbenkaffee zu ergänzen.
Cons: eben, vielleicht einen "richtigen" Kaffee am Frühstucksbuffet.
Location: Das Hotel ist wirklich "Mittendrin".
Wir waren zu zweit für sechs Tage in Oslo. Mit dem Scandic Karl Johan-Hotel hatten wir die richtige Wahl getroffen. Das Zimmer ist zwar sehr klein, aber für einen Kurz-Aufenthalt reicht es vollkommen.
