Dirty, poorly maintained, smelly, poorly lit, unsafe stairway, substandard amenities, no air conditioning, extremely lax security.

This property is in a very remote location. It was on a lake literally in the middle of a cow pasture. There was no TV and no cell reception. I was a female in a room by myself and felt extremely uncomfortable due to the remoteness of the resort. I felt it was more of a hunting and fishing camp instead of a resort. Had that been posted on Expedia I would not have booked it. The people we met were nice, and the rooms were clean but sparse. I am sure for the right person it was fine, but it did not meet my needs and I ended up leaving 30 minutes after checking in.

The Aspen Cove Resort, is a cute place to go if you are looking for more of an adventure than a "resort". The staff is very nice and accommodating, but the facilities are somewhat dated, the location is relatively remote, and simple features like air conditioning, extra rollaway bed, and even cell coverage are not existent. If you are going for a fishing trip with the guys, or wanting to do a getaway that is like camping, but without the camper or tent, then Aspen is the place for you.
