A charming perfectly located hotel.

This charming hotel,, located in a 17th century building two steps from the Place des Vosges, is the epitome of a good old fashioned Parisian hotel. Nice accomodation with slight eccentricity in its decor (e.g., a large propeller-like fan in the middle of a 17th century beamed ceiling). The staff were almost uniformly friendly, smiling, willing to respond in French to mediocre French rather than shift into English, etc. Very substantial breakfast on offer including croissants, tartines, applesauce and yogurt. One small shortcoming is that there were no international channels available in the cable TV selection of channels.
