Excellent location, very friendly staff good break

Pros: Location, character/style.
Cons: Bar would be nice.
Location: Lourve, Note Dame, Effeil Tower, Arch du Triumph, several parks, Seine river and banks, all in easy walk.
The hotel is in a brilliant place for visiting all the main attractions in Paris, Louvre, Notre Dame, etc. We were able to walk from Gard Du Nord in 30 mins. We had a classic room which was spacious, clean with a large en suite bathroom, both shower and bath, large walk mounted TV with European stations. There was a complimentary mobile phone for use during our stay which was an extra thought. Breakfast was a mix of hot food and cold buffet with cereals, pastry etc on offer, it was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful, hotel has lift.

Getaway with daughter

Room was small for a 4 star hotel although this is not uncommon in central Paris locations. Staff very helpful. Good location.

Fantastic location and staff

Both my girlfriend and I spent 3 nights in Hotel Lumen. Upon arrival in our scruffy travel clothes we were made to feel very welcome. A half bottle of wine for the welcome gift certainly made for a nice touch. The location was excellent as we only once felt the need for using the metro, other than that we felt everything else was within perfect walking distance. What truly made the stay 5 star though was the staff, not only were they exceptionally welcoming and accommodating, one evening when our booking through top table had been cancelled due to irregularity one of the gentleman on reception recommended a beautiful restaurant to us which helped make our stay all the more enjoyable. I have never felt compelled to review a hotel or holiday before, be it good or bad, but the location and the staff of Hotel Lumen definitely deserve recognition.

Great City with dirty Hotelroom

I visited the hotel with my girlfriend for a short trip to Paris during valentines day. Firstly, Paris has a lot of great sightseeing points in the centre and the hotel is perfect because of its central position. So you can visit a lot of them within walking distance. Moreover the connection to public transport is also very good because of the metrostation Pyramides next to the Hotel. Secondly, the hotel offers a giant breakfast buffet and Wifi. In addition a fitness room is available. You find a lot of bars and restaurants in the area around the hotel. Finally, it sounds like a dream vacation but there was one problem. Our hotel room was the extremely dirty! It was more dirty than we had expect at 4-star hotels. There were hairs on nearly all pillows, the sheet and the blanket. In addition the bathtub has hairs as well. This cannot be standard in an international city like paris. After complaining at the front desk we got a verbal apology and new covers for all parts of the bed but we had to change them by ourselves because it was too late for service personal at 22:30 pm. After that we did not get any compensation. All in all the hotel is not a good choice because it is too expensive for the hygiene performance. If you do not care about this, the central position and the rest of the hotel performance are good.
