Didn't like having to climb into bath for shower no fndgein room no full length mirror dressing table with tv above mirror on far wall .i have been in many executive rooms and this was by far the poorest .the breakfast was brilliant but meal in.cocktailbar

I love this hotel

I love this hotel, it is such a peaceful place. The pool is amazing it is big enough to get a good swim and you always has the opportunity to swim, it is not closed off for lessons or anything. The breakfast in the morning is so yummy too! Amazing staff always welcome you and help you out if you need to check out but would still like to see Peebles but without all your baggage.

Lovely hotel scenery beautiful staff so friendly

Pros: Friendly staff lovely surroundings
Cons: Everything great
Location: Beautiful Scottish Borders and Peebles short walk from hotel
Lovely relaxed few days plenty to do Just what was needed for short relaxed break

Grand old hotel with beautiful views & great walks

The hotel is set high & overlooks beautiful countryside. Our room was comfortable, but very small & stuffy. The general public areas are a bit tired. We used the swimming pool & sauna which was nice but the changing rooms & showers area could use an upgrade. The men's changing rooms were very cold ! The food was good & they offered a great buffet breakfast. The open fire in the evening after a walk along the River Tweed completed our days.

very close to all types of activities

Pros: The setting, the friendly staff,
Cons: more car parking spaces, the menu, an easier access to the rooms at the back of the hotel without going up and down stairs
Location: the location is great for everybody for a lot of activities. sight seeing, visit ST Mary`s loch and and the views down into Moffat are spectacular
i booked very late to the dates i wanted but still managed to get a room (family room) for my wife and i but at the time i was there, there was a lot going on with the other guest but we still had a good time every body was friendly and staff " first class service" from every member. We read the leaflets in the room saying you just took over the Hotel in 2014 and you are just renovating piece by piece but the room we were in (436) yep it was clean and tidy but i don`t think it was worth the money we paid for it for the two nights. The restaurant the same meals every night i think it should vary a bit more you will lose a lot of custom other wise Will i come back? YES it will be nice to see the changes

Just an overnight stop.

Pros: view from Hotel, great.
Cons: Some refurbishment to rooms required.
Location: short walking distance to town centre
No problems to report , comfortable, friendly staff, good buffet breakfast.

Good family holiday

Hotel needs a bit of updating in places but was fine, the staff were friendly and the kids had a great time. Would stay there again.

Unfortunately we ordered a double room and got a twin , and I wasn't impressed with the breakfasts certainly not as good as last year especially for the price , disappointing .
