Hotel staff under pressure waited 15 mins at bar for service in a queue receptionist turned up to serve us. Hotel in disrepair could do with new carpets some paint and tlc. Staff pleasant and trying their best under difficult conditions. Signs of dampness in room and only tiny shelf for toiletries although bathroom was big. All in all disappointed in hotel but staff nice.

Lovely old building that needs a lot of money spent on it to bring it up to standards. The breakfast was very good but the dining room rather grim. Our room was cold - the window didn’t close fully so we put towels there to keep the cold out. Bed was okay though not the most comfortable. Wallpaper was peeling off. Bathroom was a better standard than the bedroom. We got a special cheap deal so were happy with what we paid for. But wouldn’t have paid the regular price
