Was difficult to review the facilities due to the COVID safety precausions in place at the time of visit. Other than a few other guests being noisy until late, the hotel was lovely, the grounds are beautiful and the breakfast was nice. Had booked due to work committments in the area and am already booked back in again.

First time staying here. Was here for a two day reflexology course. Room was clean and comfortable All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Building perhaps a bit 'tired'

It's one of those hotels where they put out lots of snacks and drinks in your room but not out of the kindness and generosity that other good hotels sometimes provide (such as chocolates on pillows that I have experienced in the past) but to rake in more money. Leaves a bad taste as they also take a £25 retainer in case you eat or drink quite a bit (must cause so many issues at reception when settling up!) and you do not feel that they care a jot about the weary traveller. Breakfast at £13.50 is also really steep. £4.99 at M&S.

Pros: location was good
Cons: the cobwebs to be removed all around the hotel
Location: nice walk along the river into the town centre (only about 20 mins)
the room was fairly clean. the linen and bedsheets were anyway. However there were lots of cobwebs in the room and we did notice that the cleaner's trolley did have a feather duster for the hard to get to places - it clearly doesnt get used!! also the corridors from the reception to the exits also had large cobwebs on the corners of the ceilings!! which paints an unloved and unkept place. Its ok but for the price they charge - seems fairly expensive!
