We can't recommend this B&B highly enough. This charming ancient building is quirky and shows its age, but our apartment was modernized with up-to-date plumbing and provided with a small refrigerator. As to be expected at this price point, it is basic and not luxurious, but is clean, quiet and comfortable. Our "deluxe" room, with 2 beds (a double and single), was large, with its own temperature controls. It does not have a TV but does have WiFi. It is conveniently close to the train station and Piazza Cota, each about 3 minutes or 3 blocks away, and a self-service laundry is just down the street. We hung out a lot at the piazza, with 2 great coffee bars and 2 really great restaurants. Piano di Sorrento is a calm oasis in an area overrun by tourists (yes, ironically, we are also tourists). Our personable hosts, Roberto and Daniela, were wonderfully warm and hospitable but not intrusive. They live off premises but responded quickly to all our requests. Socializing with them made this our most memorable trip ever. To our relief, Daniela speaks fluent English and Robi is conversant. He was a terrific tour guide and driver, for a "tip," (remember what commercial tours and taxis cost, and pay accordingly!). His obvious love for, and knowledge of, his lifelong home was infectious and elevated our experience beyond that offered by guidebooks and commercial tours. We are so glad we got to know them, and feel we've made lifelong friends!
