This hotel is situated in a beautiful South Downs village: perfect for the Newhaven ferry Local fish dinner was good. . Comfortable room. Great night’s sleep and a breakfast to die for. Charming staff. We felt very safe with the COVID measures in place. We will definitely return.

Nice hotel with nice country side views

I believe if you go there in the summer you will have the pleasure of using the pool as well. Hotel has a really nice restaurant bot not budget friendly. Hotel is old fashioned and but clean and tidy.

Needs updating!

Pros: Views over countryside, proximity to town centre.
Cons: Bathrooms outdated.
Location: Walking distance to town for eating out, near to coast(Seaford)
For our 1 night stay we had room 1, nice view over the river. We could not stand under the shower because of restricted head height! Would be OK if your 4'6"! Takes ages for any hot water to get through! We went down the high street for the evening returning at about 9.30pm to find out that the bar was about to close! On a Saturday night!!!!!

Great Hotel and staff

Had a lovely couple of days here ,.. Great staff .. Nice bar with open fires .. Decent local real ales and ciders .. Lots of different gin .. Open fire .. Old world decor which is pleasant ...Restaurant was very nice with good service .. Food nearly there ..nice and clean and friendly ..

Weekend Trip with friends

This hotel has lots of character and is a short stoll from the village of Alfriston offering quaint village shops and eateries.

hotel with excellent service

We found the staff to be very efficient, helpful and friendly. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. My only complaint in an otherwise very pleasant stay was that there was no blind on the bathroom window.

Ein sehr schönes älteres Hotel mit viel Charme. Schade ist nur, dass es an Pflege fehlt. In den Zimmern, wie auch im Restaurant hängen die Spinnweben an den Wänden und Decken. Am Morgen waren die Toiletten in einem Zustand wie nach einen Abend mit vielen Gästen. Im Garten hing eine Lampe sicher nicht seit ein paar Stunden von der Wand. Es fehlt leider die Liebe zum Detail, was Sauberkeit und Pflege des Anwesens betrifft. Das muss nicht sein, wir haben in den 3 Wochen Urlaub in England viel gesehen. In Deans Place Hotel wird, so macht es den Anschein, das Geld zu leicht verdient.

Gerne wieder

Das Hotel befindet sich in einer urenglischen Lage und hat auch genau diesen Charme. Das Personal ist freundlich und sehr bemüht. Es war alles in allem ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt. Schade nur, dass das (und auch andere Hotels in England) keine Apdapterstecker zum Betrieb von elektrischen Geräten.
