Lovely place to stay and an amazing price too. Nice bar and atmosphere. Downside is lack of parking.

Bad water boiler
Last day of our stay, I got to the washroom and there was no hot water and subsequently the water coming out was brown in color. I had brushed my teeth in that water before i noticed the color. Called reception about it and that was when i was told that their boiler was bad. They didn't have the courtesy of informing us about the issue before hand and they didn't know when the issue will be fixed. We (my wife,son and I) couldn't have our bath before checking out. I wouldn't use this hotel again, i felt cheated as we paid for services that they didn't provide.

Careful, bad management & broken hotel room locks.
Be careful when choosing this hotel. We lost the Sunday morning due to our hotel room door locking us out. Our door key would not work and the hotels master door keys would not work either. After spending over 90 minutes leading us between our floor and reception they finally managed to open our room so we could get our bags and check out. Then the management team treated the situation as if nothing had happened. We felt like they didn’t care and this happens all the time. So be careful booking this hotel if you have somewhere to go as you might be late, like we ended up being. We are totally dissatisfied with their service and professionalism. When I spoke to the Operations manager 3 days later his offer was a 20% discount on the room which I also find a little insulting. £65 to compensate losing over half a day with my family....There are many hotels in Reading, these guys won’t be getting my business again.
