Pros: Central location/ Modern bathroom/ hot water/ breakfast ok only/staff ok. Cons: Bar music next building down on Saturday/hot water smells (sulphur/natural)/ no kettle or tea making facilities in room/breakfast manic not enough tables & no one to seat you. Kettle & tea in all other hotels i stayed at so should be standard. Breakfast staff was nice but it was too chaotic and no tables available.

Nice hotel great location

Nice hotel in middle of Main Street. Beds comfortable. Room way too warm had to switch heating off. Breakfast not great just fruit, bread, ham and cheese. Staff very helpful. If I ever went back to Iceland I would stay here again but wouldn't bother going in for breakfast.

Lovely hotel

We spent one night here before we flew home as our 'usual' hotel was not available. We had a nice big room with all comforts, though the bathroom was on the small side - big enough for one person only though perfectly adequate! We had very little contact with any staff but checking in and out went smoothly and everyone seemed pleasant enough. The typical Icelandic breakfast was good, but we didn't use the restaurant. The hotel is extremely convenient for Reykjavik downtown (5 minutes' walk) and close to all our favoiurite bars and restaurants. Parking can be difficult in the immediate vicinity of the hotel but we used the free car park beside the church. Only downside was the lack of extractor in the bathroom - there was just an open pipe going to the ventilation system (I presume) but no fan or anything and when we returned from breakfast the stuffiness really hit us. I don't know if this was just our room or whether they are all like that but some kind of ventilation would have been good. Otherwise everything was perfect.

Great hotel and location

Great location on the main shopping and bar street. Easy to access all main attractions. A little noisy on the Friday night but it's too be expected in the weekend in a country that loves it's weekends. Good continental breakfast, plenty of meats, cheeses and breads to choose from. Juices, Yogurts, fruit etc did us well but after a few days may become the same old same old. Friendly staff, as everywhere we went in Iceland. Room was clean but not perfect and some of the furniture a little tired. We'd come back.

Family trip

When we arrived the hotel staff at the desk didn't greet us with a hello or even a smile. Everything I said was if I was asking too much and really putting them out. It was 11am when we arrived and I hadn't taken notice of the check in time but it is normal on the UK to be told apologies but check in is at 2.. We have 1 room ready but the other one is not. I would have said no problem at all didn't even check the time and then put the bags back in the car and gone about the day. I just found the customer service below standard and just rude. The location of the hotel is great if you are based around downtown and the shopping streets. The rooms were clean and tidy and had everything that was needed for the stay. Shower in the room was lovely but did have a strong smell of sulphur which was like rotten eggs. Breakfast in the morning was nice - plenty of fruit, bread, cereal and yogurt. The food for lunch and dinner were very nice too and the kitchen staff were very accommodating. All round I would stay here again. You get what you pay for at the end of the say and staff at the desk you can just ignore.

Good holiday

Travelled as a couple. room was ready to get into in the morning rather than having to wait until afternoon which was great. Studio room was clean bright and had all the equipment/amenities we needed. breakfast was good, and service too. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Brilliant Break Away

Just came back from spending 4 nights at Hotel Fron, and would 100% reccommend it to anyone visiting Reykjavik. The location of the hotel is perfect. Right in the centre of the main street of the City, a great base to have. It also means you are one of the first to be picked up for trips, and get your choice of coach seats. The hotel has a very nice and cosy feel to it, the rooms were of a desent size and very comfortable. The staff at the hotel are extremely helpful and friendly, and do any trip arrangements for you. We had bed and breakfast, and I was impressed with the selection of foods on offer. The one very minor downside to the room was the lack of kettle, and the nice smell of sulphur from the shower, but this is Iceland, so you need to get use to that anyway. Will definitely be visiting the country again as it was the best trip I have ever had, and I will definitely stay at this hotel again, perfect location, perfect accommodation, perfect trip!

Perfect Location, Friendly People!

It is in the heart of Relativity, with an attached restaurant it was just brilliant. They Receptionists were really helpful and understanding when ever we needed any help or when we were booking specific tours. Other reviews I noticed talked about it being noisy? I did not think this was at all an issue, although the Icelandic people do enjoy a good party here and there (or till 5am in our case) The beds were clean and very comfortable, the toilet was also clean and the kitchenette was very useful however it did not have a kettle, which I think would have made this hotel 10/10. I do like my tea, however the inclusive breakfast served from 7am did actually serve tea etc. As other people have stated, the shower water does smell like eggs (sulphur) But as you will discover, this smell pretty much follows you around from the moment you get off the plane till you are on your way home. No biggey! (the tap waters ARE drinkable, so do not waste your money buying bottled water) Overall I would certainly recommend, and visit again!

Sijainti on hyvä mutta jos saat kadun puolelta huoneen, melu ja jyske on kova. Alakerrassa, vieressä on yöhuveja. Pihanpuolen huoneet ovat erinomaiset.
