A Rural Retreat

Pros: Great rooms, great welcome, peaceful, fantastic breakfast, Watch the wildlife in the garden whilst eating.
Cons: Nil
Location: Went to the Bay Mare nearby for evening meal, great pub food
I stayed here on a business trip as an alternative to the chain hotels at Scotch Corer. It is conveniently placed close to but sufficiently far away from the A1(M). I am so glad I did, as it was an absolute joy. As the details shows it is a working farm but offers very peaceful and comfortable accommodation well away from the hustle and bustle. Jane, the land lady is terrifically organised and makes a truly homely environment. A short drive from a number of good inns that provide excellent food and the lovely town of Richmond is a stones throw. I thoroughly recommend a stay at Whashton Springs and will definitely be back there next time I want to escape the motorway.
