Getting to know classical Rome

This is a very comfortable hotel within reasonable walking distance of all the main classical sites. It is also just across the road from Santa Maria Maggiore. The food is good and all meals are served on the roof garden which gives fine views of Rome. A very good base for exploring Rome. One tip. All guests have to pay a city tax (mandatory) and people need to be warned that this has to be paid in cash.

Great stay in Rome

Mecenate Palace Hotel retains the classic Roman feel. We were in a beautiful large room. The cleaning staff were very friendly. Reception were helpful with booking Taxis etc. The hotel is in a very convenient location. It is within walking distance of many attractions. It is also very close to Roma Termini with access to buses, trains and the metro.

beautiful weekend break

This hotel was everything it said it would be. The view from the dining room is beautiful, breakfast was lovely with a good choice. We slept well and room was clean, spacious and comfy. We had a lovely time and this hotel is in the middle of Rome and within walking distance of all the must see sites.

Romantic break

Fabulous romantic break, perfect location with gorgeous views. Staff friendly, welcoming and helpful. Internet free but slow. Breakfast plentiful but repetitive and limited on the hot foods. Rooms clean and well maintained, slightly old fashioned but in character for the place. Roof top garden lovely with great views. Lift often not working but there are 2. Had to walk five flights of stairs after a day of walking one day. Overall a lovely hotel and staff.

Top hotel in a great location

Would definitely recommend this hotel. It was raining heavily on our second evening and were supplied with an umbrella as we were leaving the hotel. Just one of the little things that make the overall experience rememberable..

Great holiday in Rome

Stayed here for 5 nights in February with my daughter and what a great choice we made.nice clean room, all staff were very polite and helpful, good choice of food to eat at breakfast. The view from the breakfast room terrace is amazing. The area the hotel is in is nice area, the area around the termini station is a bit grotty but no real need to go there unless your getting a train, there's plenty of decent restaurants and pubs around the hotel. We done all the tourist things but obviously the Vatican and Colosseum are must do's.Overall we had a brilliant holiday in Rome and glad we stayed at this hotel

Short break to celebrate my sister's 50th

Centrally located and near the pickup point for pop on/off tour bus. Great cocktails and lovely staff, found the rooms a bit basic but value for money.

Friendly staff, good location, value for money

It's our first time in Rome. We booked executive floor which is separated part from the main hotel. Spacious room, nice big dressing gowns & slippers, big bathroom with complimentary toiletries, also minibar with reasonable prices, big wardrobe, comfy bed, I can keep go on & on. Staffs are helpful friendly, polite & very professional. We had dinner on the roof top restaurant on first night & it was very good. Breakfast was also at the roof top. It was ok good enough & even though not very big selection but still enough variety including some pastries & fresh fruits. Location is very good, not too far to walk to the main attractions, 10 mins to the coliseum, 5-10 mins to termini station, there are plenty of cafe bar & restaurant around. If you're looking for a night out thou you woundn't find it around there. We were happy to just have dinner & go to bed at around 2200-2300 anyway as it would tired you out walking all day sight seeing all these wonderful places. There's a small supermarket around the corner if you want to save a bit of money & buy drinks etc back to hotel. We stayed there for 3 nights & we'd be happy to stay a lot longer. We would book here again next time we go back to Rome. Hopefully won't be too long.

Lovely City nice hotel

Went on a short couples holiday in January. Hotel was great value for money, rooms were clean, staff were efficient, breakfast was nice, and the location was excellent! In the perfect area for historical base camp. Look across the street at the basilica it is a hidden gem. Only issues is that the wifi is poor and I would avoid the restaurant at all costs got a 25 voucher but even that didn't help food was overpriced and the duck I had was definitely off, overall wry disappointing. However this being said the hotel itself is very good! Bathroom facilities excellent and sky bar was chill.

Great value, Great location

For anyone wanting a good value break to Rome, this hotel is ideal with its central location and just 20 minutes walk to the Colosium. The hotel staff are helpful and friendly and the roof top view over Rome is amazing. The breakfast is plentiful and the restaurant food is excellent.
