The world has been taken over by Airbnb simply because guests are travelling for longer periods and are preferring kitchen facility. Best Western have moved slightly towards this by offering a facility space. We are in sand Diego for a month and would have happily stayed in Island Palms hotel for the whole time. But the kitchen wasn’t adequate. Can’t say it was even adequate for two nights. It’s a complete waste of space that could be very easily remedied. Full fridge, two ring stove and all would be well. Excellent staff, fabulous pool, beautiful surroundings and we had to leave!!

You should update the kitchen area to a usable area. The space is there. Airbnb have changed to suit the needs of the modern traveller and Best Western should be ahead of the game. Great places to stay for longer stays. Thanks.

We stayed here for two nights. Parking - We were able to park outside our hotel room block. Parking was not free. Pool - There were two pools. The one nearest the Casa Del Mar building was smaller but in a pretty location near the boats. The bigger pool was near to the restaurant and reception. We didn't have time to use the pools. Reception - Checked in and checked out quickly with no wait time. We phoned reception when there was a problem with the toilet and they sent someone over straight away who fixed it. Reception kindly posted our postcards for us. Room - We were given a free upgrade to a lovely suite in the Casa Del Mar building. It was huge and on the ground floor. We had everything we could possibly need including a kitchen area, dining room and lounge. There was a big television with cable channels. The room was quiet at night. Breakfast - Breakfast was not included. We paid to eat in the restaurant in the hotel called "The Blue Wave Bar & Grill". It was good and we ended up going back there for dinner which was really tasty. The weather was nice so we could dine outside.

Very accomadating hotel

Because we were staying two weeks we had no problem being upgraded to a suite with a kitchenette with marina veiw.
